  1. Exile360, thank you for your reply. following the reboot, the SIP issue is still there. Am moving across to the other forum you have kindly suggested. Many thanks Brian63 p.s.: just saw your last post and I'm glad MBAM helped, however I would still recommend posting in the Malwarebytes Hijack this forum so one of the experts can make sure that you are totally clean.
  2. Hi, looks like problem now resolved. Downloaded MBAM 1.30 and full scanned my system. Two nasties found and removed. Hopefully this will fix it. Many thanks to all who viewed my post Kind regards Brian63
  3. Apologies for typos in my first post.... This sentence should read as follows: I'm told, and read elsewhere that SIP is supposed to run on the processor making up 100% of processor time, over other programmes. However, I think SIP should not do that at the expense of the processor time for other programmes. Any assistance on the RRF start issue greatly appreciated Brian63

  5. Hello. Am trying RRFree on a Vista Ult 32 system after reading (UK) PCPro mag this month. The reason for trying it is to try and see whether there are any nasties causing my the System Idle process issue on my system. System Idle process (SIP) is taking upwards of 100% of my processor time, causing all other programs to run very sluggishly, with lots of 'not responding' messages. (I'm told, and read elsewhere that SIP is supposed to run on the processor making up 100% of processor time, over other programmes. However, I don't think SIP should not do that at the expense of the processor time for other programmes. I have tried other nasties removal programmes which come up blank. Thought I'd try RR Free today to see if it identifies anything. Anyway, my issue with RRF this morning is, after installing, when I try to run RRF I get an error message, 339, saying 'COMCTL32.OCX, or one of it's dependencies is not correctly registered; a file is missing or invalid.' RRF then does not start. I have moved the COMCTL32.OCX in the RRF folder away and copied the system32 one into the RRF folder. (I know, but it was worth a try). Many thanks ahead of any assistance given. Brian63
