All is good now.... I did the uninstall - reinstall per the instructions above. It took about 15 minutes and all is working. Another reminder after the re-install is to reset your scheduled scans Thanks...Al

I tried deleting rules.ref. Now everytime I run the program it asks to download the database. Then it says connectiing to the server with a progress bar that is only on for a second followed by: You have the latest database version. Then I get a different error: MBAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (2, 0) Ths system can not find the file specified. ...Al

I have just started getting the same error message today. The problem started after rebooting the PC today. Running: Win7 ultimate Mcafee antivirus version 13.15 also running I haven't tried anything yet to correct it (other than find this thread in the forum). Will wait to see what works but thought it might be helpful to know about another case. ...Al
