  1. I did a full scan on Malewarebytes with no freezes and no infections after reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling the OS. (Thread can be closed/deleted/whatever)
  2. Just close this; I'm wiping my whole system and reinstalling the operating system. Pretty apparent people read the posts that are easy to fix first and ignore the longer ones. Thanks anyways.
  3. I uninstalled Symantec completely and used the Removal tool and tried doing a full scan in Malewarebytes (after updating) again, and it froze around the same time as usual. My computer also freezes sometimes even if I'm not scanning. I also uninstalled Avira before the scan. Malewarebytes had two infections, but my computer always freezes before the scan completes.
  4. I know I'm not supposed to do this until 48 hours, but I'm leaving on vacation sometime tomorrow. This was on the 3rd page with no replies yet, so realistically nobody was going to reply within the 48 hours anyways. Sorry for the bump, just trying to see if anybody can help
  5. My quick scan for Malewarebytes doesn't find any infections: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 4347 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.6002.18005 7/25/2010 10:04:29 PM mbam-log-2010-07-25 (22-04-29).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 137669 Time elapsed: 6 minute(s), 48 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) --------------------------------------------------------------- When I try to do a full scan, it finds two infections, and then proceeds to freeze later on in the scan when it gets to a file named something like C:\windows\winssxs\x86_microsoft_windows_naturallanguage6_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none _9ba4123e2dd0c459. I've already checked the disk, uninstalled/reinstalled, ran the mbam-clean.exe, and tried the scans in normal mode and safe mode probably around 5 times each with it freezing every time. ------------------------------------------------------------------ DDS (Ver_10-03-17.01) - NTFSX64 Run by Miles at 21:52:22.63 on Sun 07/25/2010 Internet Explorer: 7.0.6002.18005 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_21 Microsoft Attach.zip
  6. Hi My Symantec kept popping up saying it had quarantined bloodhound.exploit.289. Most websites I have read say this is a low risk. I proceeded to do a full scan with Symantec and these were the results: I was told since one of the original locations is my Symantec that has been infected and basically useless. I was also told that I probably picked this up back a couple months ago when Java was vulnerable and I never deactivated something with it. I was advised to download Malewarebytes and run a full scan. I already checked my disk on startup and ran the mbam-clean.exe thing and did the necessary restarts. Everytime for me it finds two infections and then later in the scan normally around 48 minutes when it gets to a file named something like: C:\windows\winssxs\x86_microsoft_windows_naturallanguage6_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none _9ba4123e2dd0c459 At this point, everything on my computer freezes up and none of my clicks respond and control + alt + delete are non responsive. I can move my mouse cursor but the clicks don't respond. I have also tried running the scan in safe mode and the same thing happens. I've tried doing scans probably 10 times now with the same results. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Malewarebytes, and it didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.
