  1. I tried the index page again with both computers. The Mac is no longer reloading the page repeatedly. I had to re-install Safari on the Mac. Maybe that had something to do with it, even though I was using Firefox to read the page (or attempt to do so). The Windows version of Firefox is still reloading that index page repeatedly if I bypass Proxomitron. I tried disabling Javascript and that stopped the reloading. It is most likely one or more of the .js files that load with that page causing the problem.
  2. Ok, thanks for the guess. Malwarebytes kept pestering me about that CD after the install was finished and I was simply running it. I am not having any problem currently with malware. Superantispyware is very thorough. If I do get infested with something stubborn, I will come back to Malwarebytes, but for now, I just do not want the hassles.
  3. I do have Word Perfect installed. It works fine. That was why I do not want it reinstalled. Setting up a profile that worked for me was a real hassle, and I did not want to go through that again. Since I have no idea why Malwarebytes wanted to access the Word Perfect CD, I did not want to find out the hard way that it was going to re-install Word Perfect. A little explanation as to why the software wanted me to do something would have been nice. As it is, I have only suspicions.
  4. I followed a link posted by one of the moderators on the Mozillazine forum. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
  5. Considering that the other computer I used to view the index page was a Mac and had the same problem, I very much doubt that malware is the cause. If a web or header filter is capable of stopping the reloading, I think that the cause is the web page code or one of the Javascript files that loads with the page. Is there some kind of timer that is running and re-running on the index page? I saw that a filter that disables timers was active at one point, using the Proxomitron log window to see which filters were active.
  6. There is a problem with this forum's index page. It will not stop reloading itself without a web filter being used. I use Proxomitron to filter pages and headers, and that can stop the index reloading, but I have another computer where I cannot use Prox, and with that one, the index page is unusable because it reloads after about one second of display, repeatedly.
  7. I tried Malwarebytes briefly, and the first thing it did when I ran it was to ask me to put the Corel Word Perfect disk into the drive. Why would it want that? That disk is a CD-ROM, so cannot be rewritten. Every time I started up Malwarebytes, it would ask the same thing. I uninstalled Malwarebytes because it kept on pestering me. The only reason I could think of was that it could somehow reinstall Word Perfect, which is the last thing I want to happen. Why would it do that?
