  1. Malwarebytes tech staff: Thank you for your efforts to speedily resolve this unfortunate glitch. I am a longtime user, and will continue to be a user for a long time to come, I hope! Many Thanks!
  2. What makes you think that they didn't test before release? It's reasonable to say that something has gone wrong, and leave it at that.
  3. Same problem here in QLD. Just have to wait for the company to respond, that's all.
  4. Logging into the partnerbytes site I noticed this was the site url : apps.fonemine.com/adlwebui/login.php My first reaction was "what the *** is this? I expected something more familiar, and this strange looking url caused me to quit the browser, flush the browser history and run a custom scan with rootkit scan selected. When a clean result appeared, I went back to the site (still tentatively) and registered and logged in. Paranoid or not, any site with something like fonemine in the url will raise the hackles for me.
  5. I have to agree with the points listed above, particularly the 'best of the best' accolade. It's the truth - winners are grinners, losers can please themselves! I think that user interface changes are best done very slowly, for the following reasons: 1. Users are busy people (think about how busy you all are), and are usually unhappy (VERY unhappy) about having to learn "what they called it this time, and where is it hidden now?" Who has the time to play such games? 2. Look at the train wreck that win 8 is - not because it is bad, but because it is different, and the large majority don't want to re-learn the product, they just want to use it. 3. If MS started building cars, one day there would be a model with the steering wheel on the roof, and the brake pedal in the boot (trunk). Would you buy one? More, would you drive your children in it? (therefore, don't follow the MS interface update path) I could go on, but there is no need, plus I am so *%!#@@ busy that I don't have the time to. Please, I do not intend any insult of any kind, but I run a pc support service and have done so for 17 years, helping 'mum and dad' users get some worthwhile use from their it products. They all avoid Win8 like the plague, all because of the user interface changes. This has been near to suicide by MS, even with all the money that they have. Please, don't go there. Malwarebytes has an unbeaten record, but these days customers will walk for almost nothing, and your product is far to good to see it go that way.
  6. Further to the above, I have setup the exclusions listed for AVG free 9 and added the startup delay. The system now starts ok and runs for a while but freezes solid when trying to resume. Before I registered Mbam and activated the protection module the system was very reliable indeed. I set all power options to 'never' to avoid resume situations, but the system still freezes solid after a period of inactivity. When the system freezes, I can open nothing, nor can I restart the system. I have to press the reset in order to restart - if I hold the start button until psu timeout, the system does not start correctly, whereas a hard reset produces a working restart. Almost any suggestions welcome !!
  7. Thanks for that, I have just followed the instructions there, system still froze while idle. I will check to see if I have made any typo's tomorrow.
  8. I am also having an identical problem (except for different a/v) with the registered version on a win 7 home premium, system, intel dg31pr mainb. E8400cpu, 2gbddr2, GF9600, with avg free av. The system freezes on boot. I have performed the registry edit to delay the start, the result is that the system does indeed boot but freezes later after a period of normal operation (afk so have no time interval information). I have also excluded the malwarebytes application files from the avg scan. I am running in manual mode in order to continue using the pc. System is rock solid in manual mode, unusable with protection module loaded. Is there any news on a fix for this problem? I have several people wanting to signup.
