  1. This worked for me. TDSSKiller http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684
  2. Bump. I have these as well...did a search but no definitive answer...anybody have an idea? msconfig>startup >2 instance, Startup Item and Command are square boxes. Loaction is HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows:run and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows:load
  3. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone getting these. I had some recent malware/virus troubles and Mbam and Avira cleaned things up, but I was still getting these blocked outgoing access messages from Mbam even with no browser loaded. I did some searching, found and tried the TDSSKiller which found a rootkit, fixed it, and now no more messages. Hope that helps someone.
  4. Glad to be of help. Mbam has saved my bacon a few times.
  5. Yeah, I figured it was a false positive, but how is one to know? I guess I could delete it, I mean I don't need the setup file, right?
  6. I'm a paid user. Running Norman Malware Cleaner and it says mbam-setup.exe (Infected with W32/FakeAV.ABXD) Any comments? Thanks.
  7. Happened again this morning. Apparently the mbam.exe file should only be running when the gui is on screen. When I click on the icon and it say "already running" it shows 2 mbam.exe files running in task manager. If I terminate them I can then click on the icon, the gui appears and shows no scan has been run. Yes, I can manually run the updates or scan. Any one heard of this problem before? Thanks.
  8. Ok...I'll say it again ...yes it works. It seems to be the next morning, after the scheduled scan should have run. If I click on the icon in the taskbar it say "MB already running". I then have to shut it down, from taskmanager, start it up, then I can get to the gui and it shows it has not run the scheduled scan. Thanks
  9. Yes. How many MB files should running in windows task manager? Thanks.
  10. I have the licensed version and its been working pretty much flawlessly... I had the runtime error and did the uninstall/upgrade and thought everything was fixed. Now when I bootup, MB starts and appears fine, I can click on the taskbar icon and the interface pops up and all looks good... but overnight when my scan is scheduled something must happen. The next morning I click on the taskbar icon and I get the "MB already running " popup. My task manager shows 3 MB files running the .exe, the gui and the service files. If I stop the .exe I can restart MB, bring up the interface and it shows it did not run the scan the previous night. Any ideas?
  11. Well, I couldn't get it to work properly, so I uninstalled MB, reinstalled, installed hot fix, added the exclusions to Windows firewall and everything seems to be working now. Thanks.
  12. I downloaded and replaced my old mbam.exe to fix the runtime error. After rebooting MB loads automatically, but now when I try to click on the MB icon in the taskbar, a dialog box pops up and tries to run the .exe file when MB is already running. Even if I right click on the icon and try the "check for updates", the dialog box appears and wants to run the .exe file. I have mbamgui and mbamservices running in task manager so the prog is running, but I can't bring up the interface. I have a registered, paid version and have never had problems before. Any ideas?
  13. Thanks for the replies folks... Yes, the Kaspersky trial is fully functional for 30 days. I was one step away from reformatting before MBAM fixed everything. I've kind of lost respect for Kaspersky for the moment...I'm going to test some other products...trying Avira right now. The bottom line seems to be; use an AV in conjunction with MBAM. Thanks !
  14. New member here. Just purchased MBAM. I was having browser hijacks and various problems. I downloaded the trial Kaspersky Anti Virus and did multiple scans. Still many weird things happening. Found MBAM and tried the free trial...BAM!...over 100 trojans and various infections found. After quarantine I have no more problems and have purchased MBAM. My question is, does this experience mean that Kaspersky Anti Virus just doesn't work? I was thinking about a purchase but it obviously couldn't detect my problems. Do I need additional protection on top of MBAM? Any thoughts? Thanks, RLD
