  1. There used to be the latest offline database hosted on GT500. That seems to have gone now. Is there a way to download the database upgrade file as often infected computers are not able to reliably download the updates.
  2. A setup.exe file from DIY Kyoto was marked as a FP. I added the file to the ignore list & now don't know how to get it out of the ignore list so that I can rerun MBAM in developer mode.
  3. Sorry, I'm not really sure that I understood that. MBAM is running in paid mode & it constantly running. I have enabled the daily auto updates & also a daily scan. However each time it runs the daily scan it brings up the program UI.
  4. Hi Is there any way to make the scheduled scan with MBAM silent (hidden)?
  5. Thanks for your reply. I'm happy that the computer is clean, it was Nod32 that was falling to bits. Version 4 can be a bit of a nightmare - Eset seems to be falling to bits these days. B)
  6. Update I've sorted the problem, it was caused by Nod32 version 4. I uninstalled Nod32 & Internet access worked perfectly. I cleaned the computer, reinstalled Nod32 v4 & Internet access fell to bits again. I cleaned again & installed Nod32 v2.7 & everything is now fine.
  7. Hi Windows XP SP2 I had a very nasty virus to clean. I was unable to initially install any security software (even in safe mode) until I installed WinPatrol. I was then able to see a file with a random numeric name in startup from windows\system32 which I used Unlocker to delete. After that I was able to install MBAM. It found some nasties to delete & froze on the first attempt to remove. After awhile I crashed the pc & ran MBAM again - this time it deleted the malware. I then ran a full scan with MBAM & also Nod32 & PrevxEdge. HijackThis seems ok. Everything seems fine now except that I cannot browse the Internet, Nod32 can use the Internet to update with no problem. I used a Winsock repair utility which had no effect. I uninstalled IE & Firefox & then reinstalled them with no effect. I set up a new user & the new user can't access the Internet. However running Safe mode with Networking, the Internet works fine. Does anyone have any idea's please? B)
  8. Hi I am a computer professional & fix computer problems for a living. I am also a Malwarebytes reseller. I was asked by a friend to fix a computer of someone he knows. It's for a lady who is a single mother & doing a good job looking after her 3 kids while holding down a job. Her laptop had got some serious infections including some rootkits & rogue Anti-Spyware software. The kids had been using Limewire which I have removed. The laptop is a little old & not worth spending much money to fix, I offered to fix the infections for free, but charge for any security software I left on it. My friend will be paying for the software. I intended to load Nod32, MBAM & some parental control software. I assumed that it would be a usual straight forward job to fix everything, but it's taking me all weekend to sort out & I'm not getting very far forward. She's previously given the laptop to several guys in her office to fix! The current state is that it does not connect to the Internet, either by wireless or cable. Removing the wireless drivers & letting it reinstall didn't help. I've run WinsockXPfix which has allowed it to get an IP address but no further. Using a wire connection to my router, it gets an IP, but I cannot ping the router. I'm not currently able to get LSPfix onto the machine. There are serious freezes going on that seem to get worse & sometimes better I can't figure out the causes. Sometimes I boot just to a desktop background - nothing else. Sometimes, the desktop background & taskbar but no icons. Then sometimes it boots as normal. Often running an application will hang & it will not load. It always does this with IE6 & also with Fx3 (which I installed myself). When an application hangs on load, it will hang all night - despite the process running in Task manager. Even ping hands in the DOS box sometimes! I tried Rootkit revealer which found nothing. HijackThis is installed. I got the laptop nearly running normally & installed a trial of Nod32, Spyware Blaster but it then started hanging again & I currently can't remove those apps. When it was running, I also got JV16 tools loaded (to get rid of some Google software) & also loaded CCleaner. I ran a chdsk which fixed a couple of minor problems. I ran memtest86 overnight which found nothing. I tried a repair install with an XP Pro CD without any luck - no repair option. I know that you don't generally help Computer bods, but as I'm doing this as a freebie (apart from supplying Nod, MBAM & CyberPatrol) would you be willing to help with this?
  9. Thanks Can I suggest that it may be useful to list what is compatible in the system requirements list? It currently just lists: Operating Systems: Microsoft
  10. Does Malwarebytes full version run on Vista 64bit please?
  11. I am a reseller & supply & install Malwarebytes for customers. The one thing that puts me off the product is the fact that I cannot get a registration quickly enough. This means that I visit a customer's site, clean their computer, install a paid Eset AV & a trial MaM. I then have to go back to my office & wait for the email. Then send the details to my customer & hope they can enter the information - which often they cannot. I then have to remotely dial-in & enter the info for them. How long are resellers going to put up with that? As a comparison, Prevx uses the same payment processor (Cleverbridge), but I get the registration details almost immediately. (I'm sitting here like a lemon waiting for a registration code to come through for a customer right now.)
