I went through the high cpu, mbam-clean.exe, etc and my CPU calmed down, but my machine still seemed slow. I installed AnVir Task Manager Free and saw the Disk Load was 3228 K/s for mbamservice.exe As an experiment, I installed a fresh copy of windows, nothing else and noticed: Mbam version 1.44, database 3510.............: Disk Load was ZERO, while the system was not in use Mbam version 1.46, database 4052, 4073....: Disk load was 845 K/s, while the system was not in use ...totally clean Windows XP sp3 in a VirtualBox machine, no antivirus, no software firewall For now, I've disabled MBAM on my system and it is fast again Please advise!
