  1. Thanks for the info ! After receiving your post we found a user guide at https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038984693-Malwarebytes-for-Windows-guide-v4. It seems helpful and describes the 'Security' tab options (as you described) to turn off/on auto database update. Also it indicates at the 'General' tab and 'Application updates', the 'Check for updates' button will check for version and database updates. And at the 'Security' tab, it indicates the 'Automatically check' (if left on) for database updates timing can be set for minutes, hours or days. We t
  2. exile360 Thank you for the clarification. Under 'Application updates' we have 'Automatically download and install updates' OFF; and 'Notify me when a new version becomes available' ON. Am assuming that means we are able to choose when we download and install 'version' updates ? But am not able to find a place where disabling 'definition/signature updates' is possible. Where should we look ? If we disabled Mbam definitions auto updates we would probably update daily. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks much for the info ! We used the update button suggested and the installation started; during which there were several popups along the way asking about 'install now'. We clicked on them and it appears version 4.1.0.56 was installed successfully. The 'Settings' menu indicates notification of 'version updates' when available, which we assume we are then able to decide when to install. Is there a way to get notification of 'threat intelligence updates' for choose when to install ? We are just a bit leery of auto anything on the internet these days. For example we are s
  4. When we Open Malwarebytes we are getting a message: "Support for this version of Malwarebytes ends on May 4, 2020. Update to the latest version for free." W10 Control Panel indicates our current version of Malwarebytes Premium is 3.7.1.2839. Where do we find a description for the 'latest version' ? And will the usage of the latest 'premium' version be free per our current 'never expires' subscription ? Please advise. Thank you
  5. Thanks for the info! Did the transfer and all seemed to go well. When tried (at 'my.malwarebytes.com/en/settings') to change 'Settings' (primary email and recovery email, but not 'Password'), got message in 'red box' "Something went wrong, please try again later.". Thoughts ? Thanks again.
  6. Using Malwarebytes Premium 3.3.1 on old PC and need to move it to new PC. How ? Thank you.
  7. Porthos Thanks much for the help ! Seems to have worked per attached, and some after the fact re-openings of MbamPrem. We will see how the PC reacts , so far so good. Thanks again !
  8. In the last few days we are getting the 'attached image' reminders to 'upgrade' when the 'cursor over taskbar image' shows Premium 'Up to date', and also the 'Open Malwarebytes' interface shows 'Updates: Current'. When we tried the popup 'Upgrade' it messed up the PC, and we had to unistall, repair W7, etc and go back to a previous mb3-setup-consumer-3.1.2.1733-1.0.160-1.0.2251.exe to reinstall and then update. Is this part to this topic problem, or should we be posting to another topic? Please advise. Thank you.
  9. Good to know for now, and the future. Thanks again for all your help !
  10. Thanks for the info ! As you said, both versions are in the 'applications' folder. The Vers3 'update' seemed like it included a '30day free trial $upgrade'... if we dont want the free trail version, do we need to delete Vers3 from the folder and Mbam will go back to the Mac 1.2.6 version. Or is there an 'update' along with the 'free trial $upgrade' and we just dont choose to continue it but any update to Mac 1.2.6 will still take effect ? Hope that makes sense, and thanks again for the help.
  11. Install 3.0.0.0 not working here, and not sure how to apply (if possible) above 'fix' ? MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 ('About This Mac' > 'Software Update' shows no update) Mbam Popup... A new version of Malwarebytes is available - you have 1.2.6. Would you like to download now? Release Notes: Malwarebytes 3.0.0.0 is now available - you currently Malwarebytes 3.0 for Mac provides amazing improvements, such as real-time protection and a greatly improved interface. In order to install, you will need to manually download the new version from our website
  12. In the W7 Taskbar the Malwarebytes (Premium 3.1.2) icon has a red alert symbol on it which, when hovering over the icon, notes ..."A scan has never been run." This happens occasionally (approx every couple weeks) even though scans have been run after the initial alert appears. Does this happen after every update... unable to determine any such connection. Thoughts ?
  13. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium) Version: 2.2.1.1043 Malware Database: v2017.05.18.07 When run 'Custom Scan' (all of C:) it appears to crash (ie goes to Windows 7 black start screen and freezes there) only about 30min or so into the scan process (not sure at what stage since dont sit and watch ) . If run in 'Safe Mode' all is ok... takes 2hr+ , but completes. Thoughts ?
  14. Need to correct... CCleaner (not MBAM) comes up with 'ActiveX/COM Issue, AccDictionary.Shortcut.3 - {BDC6D754-F018-A340-FD1C-1090F9A63B2C}' registry issue.
  15. MBAM scan comes up with... ActiveX/COM Issue, AccDictionary.Shortcut.3 - {BDC6D754-F018-A340-FD1C-1090F9A63B2C}, HKCR\AccDictionary.Shortcut.3 ...and discussion at http://www.bullguard.com/forum/10/Here-is-how-to-fix-the-Worst-S_2076.html indicates it to be evidence of a 'trojan'. No results in searching MBAM forum for 'AccDictionary'? Thoughts ?
