    This is normally due to corrupt/incomplete download of Database. Do you have following exclusions added in Avira for MBAM?

    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
    • C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
    • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
    • C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    You also have to exclude mbam.exe and

    data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

    from firewall

    Sorry to hear that your system is infected. The best course of action would be to let experts handle it instead of trying at your own. Please read and follow the instructions in I'm infected - What do I do now? An Expert will assist you in removal process

    Thanks *Alexander* for pointing it out, indeed I missed. Please provide following details, someone will help you with file exclusions for MBAM:

    1. OS version including 32/64-bit
    2. Installed Security Product(s) including Firewall

    In the meantime you may want to configure Automatic Updates and Schedule Scans please check How To Use The New Scheduler
