I've recently bought Malwarebytes premium 4.0.4. It found 19 threats, I put them into quarantine and then deleted them. But the next day and the day after, it found the same 17 viruses. They keep popping up after I delete them. What should I do?

Please try following the instructions in this topic to see if it helps.  If the issue still persists after that then please read and follow the instructions in this topic and then create a new topic in our malware removal area by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking and clearing the system of any remaining threats.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Thanks

    Thanks alot in advance, S.

I see what the problem is.  The following entries must be removed from your HOSTS file:

    Quote

    Hosts File Blocks

    Host data:  127.0.0.1 keystone.mwbsys.com

Instructions on resetting your HOSTS file can be found in this Microsoft support article.

Please let us know if the issue is resolved or not.

I have had this issue over many years now and even when I use your cleaners and follow the procedures, this malware type keeps reappearing.

You posted in the wrong section. But...  can you post a detection log showing the detection's. I have a feeling I know what the issue is.

It has been moved in case my other instructions do not fix the issue.

    Looks like malware to me.

What you encountered is known as a tech support scam; you may refer to the official Malwarebytes Tech support scams: help and resource page for additional details on these types of scams.  Encountering these sites does not infect your PC; it is simply a trick to attempt to scare you into contacting the number provided so that they can sell you on PC repair services that you don't actually need.

You can help to prevent these threats by installing the Malwarebytes Browser Guard browser extension which is available for Chrome and other Chromium based browsers like SRWare Iron, Vivaldi and the new MS Edge Chromium browser as well as Mozilla Firefox.  Malwarebytes Browser Guard works well alone as well as in addition to Malwarebytes Premium and blocks certain items that Malwarebytes Premium does not because it exists within your web browser which allows it to see aspects of websites and content that the normal Web Protection in Malwarebytes Premium cannot (since it operates at the network level of the stack).  You can learn more and download Malwarebytes Browser Guard here

I am running premium 4.0.4.49, update package 1.0.19494, component package 1.0.823.

That is the latest. Not all component update packages are announced. Only ones that change user experience. Some are just back end updates that make no changes to the user experience and no bug fixes.

The ones that make actual changes or improvements are posted here.

I talked to the owner of the repair shop and he told me that a little over 10 years ago

when he began is business, he bought and paid for a Corporate license. While he

can offer his preferred customers installation, he has to be the one to provide

overall support for the product. We can get some templates off the internet but

we cannot call for major support issues, we must go to his repair shop.

And I have some oceanfront property in Arizona for sale as well.

Office 2007 is the most bootlegged version I have ever seen.

I was just making you aware of the issue nothing more.

Sounds fishy don't you agree? Another thing to consider, Office 2007 lost security updates over 2 years ago. Can you say "security risk".

    Sorry you are having issues.

Please try uninstalling and reinstalling Malwarebytes for Windows using the Malwarebytes Support tool.

Uninstall and reinstall using the Malwarebytes Support Tool
    https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-2674

Please have lots of patience with the tool.  The first phase is a cleanup and does require a Windows Restart.
After the Restart, it may take 2 - 3 - 4 minutes till the Support tool screen shows up.   Please be patient and have faith.  Wait for it, whatever it takes.
The 2nd phase is where it offers to do a new Install.

Let me know if that clears up the issue or not.

    However,

this repair shop, for its standard rebuild package, installed Windows 10, MS Word and Excel 2007, and

other programs that I haven't yet delved into.

Well I suggest you never use this shop again. Any shop illegally installing Office 2007 should be avoided. Just being honest as an honest shop that follows license agreements.

I assisted in the past in getting a shop like this closed down several years ago. These shops are everywhere and make shops like mine who follow license agreements look like rip off's

Office is not and has never been free or authorized for anyone to install it like that.
