You could try to see the disk through Disk Management: 1. Make sure you're logged in as an Administrator. 2. Windows Key + R 3. In the Run dialog box, type compmgmt.msc and press enter. 4. In the console tree, click Disk Management on the left hand side. The Disk Management window displays, with your disks and volumes shown. If that doesn't work, it may be that the Maxtor software isn't installed.
