  1. I think I have dealt with the video card issue, that doesn't occur anymore. Yesterday I changed MSE to Avira and uninstalled Online Armor, I'll tell you if anything changes.
  2. Hi I'm from icy Finland(not icy at the moment)
  3. Now this is getting weird, Since I've changed Avast! to MSE and installed Online Armor free, my PC has gone a bit weird. First it started as slowing down a bit, but later my desktop started to load so freaking slow! After opening my profile it freezes for a while in the state, where the desktop image is on, but there's no icons or taskbars etc. After that my video card(?) started not to respond some times. My screen just says, that "entering power save" and I can't get out of it. Computer still stays on, I have to turn it off from the power swich. Those "black-outs" happen after the desktop has loaded and I've used the PC for a while, like 5 mins. I'm working on the problem but any help would be appreciated
  4. And some security add-ons/programs may prevent the browser from loading full page or selected items
  5. Yes, I'm very much aware of that and have dealt with p2p related malware several times. But I'm willing to take that risk. This is one of the reasons why I want to re-organize, to control uTorrent more effectively Thanks for your attention anyway, I really appreciate it.
  6. Welcome aboard, RC_Pilot! I'm glad that you like Mbam, it surely is a wonderful anti-malware program. Just ask if you need to know something
  7. As mentioned above, try to run Mbam as admin. When using XP, open Mbam whilst using administator profile. If using Vista, right-click Mbam.exe and choose "Run as administrator..."
  8. And for safe surfing, I'd recommend to install a Firefox add-on called LinkExtend. With it you can easily detect sites marked as harmfull so you shouldn't end up downloading fake plug-ins. You could also copy the plug-in name and search the web for more info/trusted download sources.
  9. Exactly Propably you'll need that HijackThis or others anyway. Because I don't have that redirect post form ready here, I'll just content to ask you to go to the "HijackThis-logs"-subforums and read the manual :lazy:
  10. So both, Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender seem to use the same process name while running in the background. Are those programs designed to use the same name or what? It was something like MpMs... or something :/ And does it cause some kind of errors when you use both of them(I don't)?
  11. I've changed my DDR1 RAM from around 200MB to the 512MB one. I think it gave my computer a little boost but we'll see about that later. So now I have 2x512MB=about 1GB RAM + Virtual RAM converted from hard disk(up to 4GB). Now I can run umm a setup, Firefox, Online Armor, security programs at background(real-time), uTorrent and DriverGenius at the same time and not freezing up, just slowing down
  12. RAM costs some money, which I don't have much at the moment... And I can't add anymore virtual RAM, it's already at 4000MB. I've checked it out and my RAM usage stays under 50% while CPU is running almost 100%. And why I swap to MSE is because Avast! requires rerribly much CPU and it slows my computer down.
  13. I'm a bit let down by Online Armor. When I had full protection on, it hogs all of my available CPU up to 100%. Exceptions are set. When I narrow down the protection just to firewall, it doesn't take much. Btw, just changed Avast to MSE, looks good at the moment
  14. Processor: AMD Sempron 2400+ RAM: 767 Mb If you need more information, just tell
  15. Shy, is it true that you in America have enormous meals? 'Cause it's really getting on my nerves that you have to order like several dishes in Finland(when eating outside)
  16. If you like WOT too user-review-based, I'd recommend using LinkExtend. It has huge amount of features like link scan, web page safety level, traffic meter etc. It's based on websites that work for scanning and searching different kind of sites (as example there's Site Advisor and Norton Web Safe.
  17. I've discovered that many italian opera singers have same names than pasta brands in Finland I always get hungry when hearing opera
  18. Like some of you recommended, maybe I should get that firewall. Well, now I need suggestion about that too Ps. Still need protection pack for my crappy laptop
  19. Does IE tab create a IE tab in Firefox? And what do PC tools Browser defender and WOT exactly do? Thanks for your reply.
  20. That's a good one :) I think they are developing some kind of sunglasses with mounted computer in it.
