  1. I am a reseller and renewals should have started in April. I have been selling MBAM for about 5 years. Currently I have dozens of subscribers past the 1 year mark since the subscription model began. MBAM does not alert them when it will expire and they have no indicator how many days remain in their subscription. If I try to call them to say it is time to renew, I have nothing to show them in "My Account", they do not believe me. You are currently loosing renewals daily. When will this be fixed? Is the program ever going to alert the end users? There is no way to tell if a key is lifetime or subscription...not even when looking at the "My Account" tab on the activated premium program. Why not? The "My Account" panel also does not even show any mention of a subscription or the expire date? why not? This is all it shows: Identifier: <key id> Key: ****** State: Licensed Activated on : 05/20/2014 10:14:10 The word subscription or lifetime does not even show there anywhere in the user interface. All show the same minimalistic vague details in "My Account" on the program. I am also a carbonite reseller and when I activate carbonite, the "My account" window shows it is a Subscription, the activation date, and the expire date. I am expecting MBAM to do the same or I have no way to tell my customer when it expires or what key type it was activated with, especially later on if the machine comes in and I need to service it.. I know what you are go into say "A future update will address this", really? when? This should have happened the day you started selling subscription keys. Because of this, I am considering different solutions to sell my customers. Thanks for any help Mike
  2. I am a reseller and now it is about time to begin processing renewals When will this be fixed? I just got a renewal offer email for a bulk purchase I made for 10 keys 10 months ago... ummm how is this supposed to work? Is the program ever going to alert the end users? There is no way to tell if a key is lifetime or subscription...not even when looking at the "My Account" tab on the activated premium program. Why not? The "My Account" panel also does not even show any mention of a subscription or the expire date? why not? This is all it shows: Identifier: <key id> Key: ****** State: Licensed Activated on : 03/26/2014 10:14:10 The word subscription or lifetime does not even show there anywhere in the user interface. Yes I have been selling hundreds of consumer lifetime keys for 4 years. And now today I have purchased and installed many subscription keys for my customers. All show as the same in "My Account" on the program. I know what you are go into say "A future update will address this", really? when? Should be about now then because I just not a renewal email from the wholesale portal. You are late! Thanks for any help Mike
  3. I had this happen on SIX customer computers today at my two stores (all MBAM Premium). Two I had to fix right in front of the customer as I deliver their brand new PC. The "Fix" button, enable Malicious Web site Protection, reboot, all did nothing. On all SIX I had to install MBAM again on top of itself to fix it. I hope these do not do it again, or I will be really busy this week. I have thousands of clients on MBAM Pro. We install it about six times a day.
  4. Bug Report: Potential Threats Detected on scan results block the database updates, while the system tray popup says "database is out of date" instead of "malware detected". I am a reseller with a few thousand customers running MBAM I installed for them. Because of this version 2.0.2.1012 I am getting calls each day saying "MBAM keeps popping up saying database is out of date. The fix it button, or update database buttons do not do anything to resolve it. I have found out some information about this bug that might be helpful: I noticed that if you click on the scan tab, it has previously found items like PUPs and it is waiting for the user to "Choose an action for the detected items". It wants you to click "Quarantine All", or "Apply Actions". It can stay in this condition for weeks, and the database will not update at all. The system tray popup says "database is out of date" instead of "malware detected". So the user does not think to ever look at the scan tab. The fix it button, or update database buttons do not do anything to resolve it. But if you go to the scan tab, there are "Potential Threats Detected" on the scan results that somehow block the database updates. If you click "Quarantine All", the database will now be able to update again. Just want to let you know I see this bug almost every day now. On the forum you tell users to clean / reinstall, so you might not have noticed the possibility that the scan results are blocking the updates. Mike
  5. I have been using Sandboxie with MBAM Pro for a few years. I am using it now with MBAM 2 with no issues. also have MSE and HitmanPro.Alert with Cryptoguard on Win 7 64 bit.
  6. MBAM 2.00.0.100 Win 7 64 bit Every morning the scan completed page is left open. Is there a setting to make it not do that?

  8. There is no way to tell if a Premium activated key is lifetime or subscription. Not even when looking at the "My Account" setting on the activated premium program. Why not? The "My Account" panel also does not even show any mention of a subscription or the expire date? why not? This is all it shows: Identifier: <key id> Key: ****** State: Licensed Activated on : 03/26/2015 10:14:10 The word subscription or lifetime does not even exist! I have comared both activating both key types and it is identical with each. I am a reseller and this will disrupt proper handling of renewals and key activation. When will this be fixed?
  9. I am a reseller. How can we tell if a key is lifetime or subscription type? I upgraded to MBAM 2.0 and look on My account page and it does not specify the key type. I can see lots of future confusion if we cannot see the key type and expire dates. Also for the "single license for up to 3 PCs" type, how can we tell how many PC'c it is activated on?
  10. The last sentance was supposed to be "Now MBAM is being removed by it."
  11. I own two computer shops. I am a MBAM reseller, we install MBAM Pro on every customer computer. I have seen 3 computers this week come in with multiple adware and MBAM Pro was completely uninstalled. The customer did not uninstall MBAM. Just want you to know rogue adware programs are able to uninstall MBAM Pro, and now they are doing it. Also this adware stuff is getting more agressive. PC Optimizer, Registry boost, conduit, highlightly, etc. These are infecting by 15 to 25 programs per machine. It is embarasing that MBAM does not stop any of it installing. Not MBAM is being removed by it.
  12. Mainard, thanks for the reply. I no longer need help since I all ready fixed all my customer's computers. I was simply pointing out the flaw in your fix tool which I still believe does exist. To be more specific: your tool elevates privilege and ownership to administrator, but in winsxs folders (and possibly some other system folders) it does not grant write permission for the administrator, so the file copy will fail "permission denied".
  13. Your version 1.08 repair tool has flaws. It does not always replace ALL the quarantined files. It does not take ownership of the system winsxs folder so it cannot replace system files there at all. The Windows component store (C:\Windows\winsxs) directory is used during servicing operations within Windows installations. Servicing operations include, but are not limited to, Windows Update, service pack, and hotfix installations. I had to reinstall several Vista and Win 7 computers because so many winsxs files were not restored. I had several computers with thousands of quarantined files, I ran the tool several hours only to later be faced with the fact that as soon as I reboot, some but not all fixed, there were errors like "HP Solution center cannot open because ATL90.dll is missing". The ATL90.dll is inside one of the winsxs folders. Your tool cannot access the winsxs files in safe mode either. On some severely effected computers, system restore and file checker could not restore, just finishes with errors. Many people are going to think their computer is fixed soon after running the repair tool. It may even appear to be perfectly fine at first. Some will only find out later on that Windows updates, service packs, and hot fixes fail because of missing Windows component store files. Some might not notice for days or weeks. You should consider making a better fix tool.
  14. System Restore from windows install boot DVD in repair mode saved one for me today. Win7 64 bit. Unfortunately other ones I tried failed. So this is not the guaranteed fix for everybody.
  15. @kapcreations, that is nice. Hopefully MBAM can revise their official fix tool tto be his efficient at removing duplicates, fewer passes, taking proper ownership, and replacing ALL the files. Currently I am having to reinstall several computers because so many winsxs files were not restored. I am watching 3 right now run the fix too for several hours only to later be faced with the fact that as soon as I reboot, all is not fixed I will see errors like "HP Solution center cannot open because ATL90.dll is missing"
  16. The false positive repair tool will not put back this missing file C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc90.atl_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.6161_none_51cd0a7abbe4e19b\ATL90.dll So I always get error ATL90.dll is missing from HP Solution Center I am trying to help a customer on remote support.
  17. I was worried that some that winsxs files would be missing in my system, but then I looked at the mbam log and when it tried to quarantine them is had an "error could not delete file code 5" so they were still there. I examined a few and they were still there. yeah!
  18. On one Win 7 64bit computer, I deleted the remaining Quarantine items after "Restore all" had left overs. Now I worry that some winsxs files would be missing in my system? Is that true? is there a way to repair that? This could cause windows update errors/failures now? Note to self: Do not delete the remaining Quarantine Items!
  19. Thanks, I ran the file from post #28 and the number wend from 2400+ down to 1400+. Many of the remainder files are the same filepath/file duplicated 20 times or more. It would be nice to have an informative log file.
  20. Where is the revised tool which handles WinSXS restores? I have a customer's 64 bit Vista laptop that had 2800 quarantined .dll and exe today. I was barely able to get it working again enough to reinstall MBAM, but after "restore all" on the quarantine tab, it still has over 2400 files that still show. When I reboot, I still have many programs that say dll and exe are missing.
