  1. I'm up to 133 GBytes. It appears to have started soon after midnight British Summer Time.
  2. I'm sorry - I think that I have posted this in the wrong place. I have now posted it again in False Positives.
  3. A small private phpbb forum of mine at forum.mnlps.me.uk is being blocked by Browser Guard. Can it be whitelisted, please?
  4. Thank you for getting back to me. After I get the crash, (which is only very occasional), I can't start or stop any programs, or even reboot. The only thing that I can do is to force a restart by pressing the reset button on the PC case. Everything will then run well for a week, month, or more. I have two PCs, both of which are running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP 1, with MBAM, SAS and Microsoft Security Essentials. I have only had the problem on one of the PCs, which happens to be my Media Centre PC. Mike.
  5. This problem hasn't gone away. It happened again yesterday. I have also noticed other posts reporting similar symptoms. Faulting application name: mbamservice.exe, version: 1.51.1.0, time stamp: 0x4e0f0e18 Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x107043fa Faulting process id: 0x708 Faulting application start time: 0x01cc50645b20457c Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: e143d61b-bdd8-11e0-bd66-001d601a917c Mike.
  6. Hello Grant. I don't know what more I can do, other than attach the entire event log for the five minutes either side of the application crash. I hope that this is of some help. Mike. Event_log.zip
  7. The Minidump folder is empty. It is mbamservice.exe that is crashing, not Windows. Mike.
  8. Hello Grant. I am not getting a prompt to tell me that MBAMService has crashed. I am looking in the Event Log, after rebooting, which is how I discover it. I don't know of any software that can block/turn off running services. I am attaching the two OTL logs that you requested. Mike. Extras.Txt OTL.Txt
  9. Hello again, Grant. I think that you have missed the main point of my original posting. mbamservice.exe is crashing, after which, I can't start any applications, and have to reboot by pressing the reset button on the case. Mike.
  10. Hello Mainard. Here is one example. In this example, mbamservice.exe stopped working at 14:00, and I noticed and rebooted at 14:34. In case it is relevant, this is a Media Centre PC, and it is set to sleep if it is idle for 30 minutes. Mike. protection-log-2011-06-25.txt
  11. Hello Mainard. I would like to help you to solve this problem, but I'm afraid that I can't follow your instructions. The main problem is that I don't get a crash prompt. The first symptom that I get is that programs won't start or TV recordings won't start or terminate properly (it is a Media Centre PC). The only thing that I can do is to press the reset button on the PC case. I only know that it involves MBAM is because I look in the Event Log. If there are any other things that I can do to help, please let me know. Mike.
  12. Well, that hasn't cured the problem. It has just happened again. Faulting application name: mbamservice.exe, version: 1.51.0.28, time stamp: 0x4dcac365 Faulting module name: mbamnet.dll, version: 1.51.0.45, time stamp: 0x4ddbacf9 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0001af7d Faulting process id: 0x2e4 Faulting application start time: 0x01cc2abe14269537 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamnet.dll Report Id: 091e57c3-9f2b-11e0-9f08-001d601a917c Mike.
  13. Thank you. I have done what you suggested. It was only an occasional problem, so it will take some time to know whether it has been cured. If it occurs again, I will let you know. Mike.
