732 Error, tried all the fixes to no avail

ETA- I dont have any other virus program on the machine, and i've tried the registry hack. still nothing. -
Hello all. Im receiving the 732 error when trying to update the program. I'm using a licensed version, the correct one for my OS. Installing on a brand new laptop that was just built and has no spam or spyware on it. Windows XP. Im using a proxy (should that matter to malware?). Internet access is fine. Modified IE as mentioned. Reinstalled a couple of times. Still nothing. Is there any other solution out there? Thanks, naf
