  1. Remote Utilities cannot update. Malwarebytes has reported them as malicious and quarantines the downloaded file every time. This is an on-going issue with Malwarebytes and Remote Utilities. Their update file seems to acquire a new name every time it is downloaded, so you cannot just add the file to the safe list. As they download to windows/temp, I cannot remote that folder from detection! This needs to be resolved. If there is anything you need me to provide to them to prevent this issue in the future, I would be happy to post YOUR suggestion in my open ticket on their site. This is happening on all my systems running Remote Utilities. I cannot update them. RUTIL1.txt RUTIL2.txt 1373405877_MBAMFalsePositivefiles.zip
  2. I appreciate that, but the point was the uninstall hosed parts of the OS. In addition it is giving me a lot of problems on the Win7 & Win10 front also. The first post said I downloaded it to a network share on my server. I then tried to install it on a few different computers as they were not updating correctly and it did not work on 3 or 4 machines. Said there was an update.
  3. New update. I downloaded 3.1.2.1733-1.0.141 onto my server to redistribute it via network share. Yesterday I tried running it on my server. It froze, and when I shut down (via power button as the system was unresponsive) and rebooted my NEW DELL T630,running Server 2012R2, it booted but It still said there was an upgrade available. I then uninstalled MBAM in the hopes of reinstalling it. During this process it too froze and I had to hard reboot again. When the Server tried to restart after uninstalling, it would not boot up. It took me 3+ hours with Dell to get the 100% fine system to boot properly. I have never had this type of problem on this server with any installation. As a test I just tried to do the same on my test bed PC. It took over 7 minutes to start the install routine. Once started, all functionality was halted on this WIN7 Pro PC too. The actual installation took over 5 minutes, pausing and locking the system each time it paused. After all this time, it popped up and told me to reboot. On the reboot MBAM it seemed to have installed correctly. I have literally installed MS Office 2016 Pro faster. In all fairness, WHENEVER Microsoft beats anyone in speed of installation/upgrade, it is NOT a good reflection on the programming of the beaten product!
  4. I have to say I am in the same camp as Digerati. I have MBam on at least 100 PCs and have recommended it hundreds, if not thousands of times over the years. When I use the product to clean an infected machine, I try to push the purchase right then to continue the protection and prevent future ones. That said, I sometimes get the sale through my portal, other times they just go and purchase it directly. That means I have had dozens of calls recently regarding the pop-ups and the upgrade to the newer version that does not work. I do not have the hours required to log into my customer's systems and manually uninstall, clean and reinstall the program, especially if there are reboots required. I recommended the program (and still do) therefor, in their eyes, I am responsible. Without sounding greedy, I do not have the hours required to do this and I will not be compensated for my time either. We REALLY need this issue to be resolved! I recommend FIXING the installer issues and then (even if it is only for cases like this bad release) silently PUSHING the upgrade to the PCs. Please reply and let us know what is going on. This image is after 3 unsuccessful attempts at updating at different times and rebooting in between.
  5. I used a fake registration code and email to activate the Data Recovery malware program and then un-installed it. I also ran the attrib to recover my hidden files. I have AVG 2012 installed and I would like to run Malwarebytes but each time I try to install it I get an access denied error and it rolls back. I was able to upgrade AVG from 2011 to 2012 but I need some assistance to get Malwarebytes installed so I can get this PC cleaned.
  6. I had to remove the drive and run malwarebytes from another PC. It cleaned the infected files but the system boots to a blue screen - iI had to go in via another user too. If I went in via the user who had the virus I cannot access task manager - i had to access using another user and now I can CTRL-ALT-DEL and get the task manager but there is not icons or desktop. Any help would be appreciated Copy_of_hijackthis.txt
