Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) However, it did so without successfully updating 1st - having produced the error code noted in title of this post. Likewise any attempt to run an online virus scan is thwarted 9(Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Microsoft Security Essentials). It is as though the malware, or another unwanted programme remains and monitors what I am trying to download. I can view websites like Google ok. The laptop itself has no current anti-virus installed (helping my brother to who it belongs) and I am in a Catch 22 siutation., none installed ti run and can't install one either. Any help would b much appreciated. Thanks.
