Hi everyone, I've tried to sit here and solve this problem on my own using help from other people who have had the same case as me but I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't fight this piece of mal-ware off. I'm also typing this on my desktop as my laptop (the machine that's infected) is basically useless in long-term usage. Basically, I've used Rkill to stop processes right at the start-up of my laptop (does anyone know if running Rkill right off the bat can stop anything?), it usually stops a few here and there but I have to run it several more times in the ensuing minutes in order to get them. Then I tried to run MBAM, it scanned for a good 12 minutes before it stopped. Then my entire computer was frozen and I had to force restart my computer. I've done this literally tens of times and I'm up in the wee hours of the morning now just trying to figure out what's wrong. Other scanners (SuperAntispyware) have had the same problem of working for a little while and then freezing and my laptop freezing. I don't know the name of the mal-ware I have but this is second time catching something (first time was that pesky Internet Security 2010 bug, I was able to get rid of it with a straight scan with MBAM), this is the only time I haven't been able to finish a scan. Usually MBAM freezes after a few minutes, the longest I've got it to run is the 12-minute scan I talked about before. All I know is that it is something like Security Tool, it also pops up with "Windows Security" sometimes as well as saying that my normal processes are infected, etc. I'm running an Asus Eeepc 1005HA with Windows XP. I was also reading up on using Combofix, is this recommended? Thank you!
