  1. Hi again, I apologize if I'm being a pest and I know you guys are busy helping a lot of people with issues. I probably wouldn't be as concerned as I am with this problem if I didn't use this computer to remote into work at times and worried for security purposes. Today I tried running sfc /scannow and found nothing there either and ran services.msc looking for processes running that seem out of the ordinary. I still freeze on boot thru shutdown and I can't open Contorl Panel, My Documents or My Computer without Windows Explorer resetting and I end up losing my desktop icons. Also I now have to shut the system down by going to Taskmanager and doing it that way. I was wondering if someone can take a quick look at my issue and log and give me some direction or if I'm in the wrong section of the forum maybe you can direct me to where I should go. Thanks so much for your help!
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm hoping you can help me, I'm at the end of the old proverbial rope here. About 4 days ago, my system started freezing up on me from the startup and it's been pretty much useless ever since. It started out as Firefox running extremely choppy for a day or 2 before. My CPU usage is pretty much non-existant and as of last night, Windows explorer keeps shutting down on me as well. I've searched thru the forum and elsewhere and followed a few suggestions to other users to no avail. The only thing that doesn't seem to freeze "that much" is Taskmanager. What I've tried so far is: Zone Alarm anti-virus and spyware scans, Adaware, Spybot S&D, Ccleaner, Task Manger17 and Malwarebytes. Spybot, Ccleaner and Malwarebytes picked up a few things (Trojans and I wish I would have written them down because I can't open up the logs) and fixed them however it's making no difference in how the system is running. I've even taken the unit apart and cleaned the fan (it's running fine) and checked the cables to make sure all was secure. I also did scans on my HD and it's coming up clean. I cannot for the life of me, figure out what's wrong with this. I'd be eternally grateful if someone can look at my Hijack This log and see if there is something that I'm just not seeing or something embedded. After viewing forums I've taken off or shut down what was considered non-essential. Please help... My system specs are: Dell Dimension E510, HD 80G, RAM 1G, Windows XP Pro SP3.
