  1. Yes, this is only for servers, and only for Servers running OpenSSL at that. There should be nothing to do on an end user machine.
  2. As much as I hate to make an idiot of myself, that wasn't the problem either. It ran fine for a couple of reboots, and now it is freezing again. There is still some kind of conflict on the laptop somewhere. My desktop machine seems to be running fine, but when I try to launch a browser on the laptop I end up having to force a reboot with the power switch.
  3. I just bought 2 licences of MBAM paid yesterday and had a massive conflict with something. I though it was ESET Smart Security to start with, because I thought that was all that was installed. After probing through my start menu I found that the Prerelease version 4.90.18 of SUPERAntiSpyware (x64) I had installed was still on the machine. I had run the remover they had posted, but unlike previous versions where I had run the remover and it uninstalled without a trace, this one went through the motions and did nothing. My laptop had been freezing and was unusable when I enabled protection in MBAM, but after cleaning up the leftovers of SAS (it wasn't even running) MBAM seems to work without any slowdown whatsoever now. Just thought I would warm others that they don't seem to play nicely together.
  4. On your suggestion for ESET Smart Security, don't let me stop you, I found out that isn't the issue. I removed ESS and had nothing installed but MBAM and as soon as I enabled protection and tried to launch Firefox the machine just froze, no other security software installed whatsoever, Windows Defender disabled. Had to force it off, Windows would not respond to anything. The CPU gadget shot up to 100% immediately before it stuck, the clock stopped, etc. Just wanted to clarify to anyone already reading this thread that ESS is not at issue here. I will go ahead and start a new thread when I have more info. It looked like something that should go here and as a new member it takes a post or two to find the procedures at a particular forum. Thanks for the response.
  5. I'll add myself to the list of those having a problem. I have been using the free version for a while and decided to buy 2 licenses yesterday. On my desktop machine I notice that it does cause some things to lag (it causes more slowdown than antivirus does) but it does not cause major problems. I enabled protection on my laptop and I can't even get past logging in. I get to the desktop and the CPU goes to 100% and everything freezes. I had to power off and boot into safe mode and uninstall it to be able to do anything. I am running Windows 7x64 on both machines and set all of the exclusions as listed here. I am running it with ESET Smart Security because I have seen that as the most recommended pairing with this product. I also have licenses for Kaspersky Internet Security, Outpost Security Suite, and Norton Internet Security if any of those give better results. I'm not sure what the conflict on the laptop is, I try to keep the software setup the same on both machines, but the hardware is obviously different. I am not running any other security software on either machine than the ESET Smart Security, so if that is not the conflict I am not sure what is. Hopefully we can discover what the issue is.
