  1. You should be able to reformat using the factory restore function such as f8 when booting the laptop up and choose the repair option. It really depend on the brand sometimes it's F11 and sometimes alt+f10...
  2. Your firefox issue. For some reason malwarebytes forum keep not allowing me to post every 90 sec sigh....But you need to go to firefox and disable all addin and see which one is causing you to crash. This will help : http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20crashes

    Good Luck

  3. This is normal for malwarebytes to open the icon last. All the ones I have does the same thing.
  4. On IE just go to the advance tab and reset it to factory setting. Go to connection and check lan setting make sure proxy is uncheck. That should work Good Luck
  5. Seems like your mapping on your keyboard has been replaced.Try taking out the battery and just use the ac cord and see what happens. Or try going to an virtue environment by using a bootable cd such as kaspersky bootable cd, hiren, UBCD4win, Norton Bootable cd, and so fourth. You use those to scan your system of virus if nothing works probably the best result is to reformat.
  6. Advice you should use a good firewall such as comodo or online armor if you have not yet have one. Don't just base your protection on AVG and xp firewall since they are standalone and they don't do much from all the years I been testing them. If you had malwarebytes pro it usually blocks rogue software really well.
  7. Sound to me like you are just using Malwarebytes as your virus protection which is a mistake because it's not meant for that.... You probably want to download Microsoft Security Essentials to clean the virus leftover if it's gone. You can use like Kaspersky virus removal tool to help you out if necessary.
  8. Manually can update it by this: http://data.mbamupdates.com/tools/mbam-rules.exe Try reinstall and it should be fine afterward. Make sure you delete the directory out of Program Files and Program Data
  9. Sound to me like you have a nasty rootkit. Use Combofix to remove most of the virus and use malwarebytes afterward to clear the rest. If necessary you can use Kaspersky bootable cd or Norton to removal the rootkit and virus. Good Luck
  10. Check out this old post: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=100544
  11. Hello My Friend, On window 7 you have to click on the start menu and right click on the empty space on the start menu. Choose properties---> start menu tab---> customization---> and click restore default on the bottom left. Have Fun.
