Thanks for the workaround. Defender is currently working again. When I uninstalled and reinstalled before, it would work OK for a while, but after a few days it would turn off again.

New Version of Mbam keeps turning off My Windows Defender 8.1. I have to uninstall and reinstall to get things right with Defender working.

A site that I use a lot has started being blocked by mbam. I have used it for years and didn't used to have a problem with it. The site hxxp://primewire.ag I put the URL in my exclusions area, but it is still being blocked. Please help.

OK, Sorry if this has been asked before and checking though 700 plus pages to see if it's been covered is not convenient for me. I have MBAM premium and have had it for some years.... I do like it and have it installed on my 3 systems. It's great !! My question is... When I do a scan and a PUP is found, I have it quarantined and a second scan shows it as gone. However, when I scan the following week, it is right back again. Is there any way it can be gone for good? I don't want to just have it ignored in future scans but for it to be gone totally. I have done some searching on the subject but other than downloading more software I can't find an answer. (everyone wants you to download their program).

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and sorry for posting out of place. I did a scan with AdwCleaner and it coughed up a few registry type errors which it cleaned. The original PUP detected yesterday was already quarantined and didn't show today. As for now, I don't see any issues but if they should show again, I will take the matter up again..... Thank You !!

On my laptop (Lenovo G70), I rarely use it to go on-line .... just Win updates etc. I still do a weekly scan with my Windows (8.1) Defender and Malwarebytes and in the last couple of weeks Malwarebytes coughs up a PUP called "PlayThruPlayer" that is shown in the registry. I have looked for this player in my installed progs list but cant find it at all. Any info to find this would be great if anyone can help.

I have had the real time protection turned of as well as not being able to update a few times now. I just uninstall and reinstall and it fixes it. My question is "what is causing this ?"

Hi Everyone..... I'm new today. Malwarebytes save me a few times... Thank You ! Anyway, until today, I have not been able to access a needed Hot Conference Room. I found that if I unchecked the IP Protection, I could enter. Is this the only way to access a site that is being blocked? Thanks in anticipation.
