  1. Just got in. Everything looks okay after the big update. Hopefully that was all that was needed. Let me know how I can tell which drivers are missing tomorrow? Some updated through windows update and others through the library. I never had to enter my windows key. I'm headed to bed soon, just wanted to say thank you so much again!
  2. I couldn’t get to the settings for a boot time scan, but maybe that’s fixed in this new update! Oh well then I will be back too late. I can check in tonight and tomorrow. If you have already gotten offline, tomorrow it is whenever lol. It’s still updating. Maybe this is the magic update. I couldn’t disable updates. The setting wasn’t available for some reason.
  3. Still updating. I do have the hospital appointment I have to leave for in 20 minutes. It’s still updating. I should be back by 8pm.
  4. Is it normal for updating to go on for 20+ minutes? This has never happened to me before.
  5. Maybe it’s that simple and it’s just a bug. Hopefully it starts after these updates that were invisible started.
  6. Every single thing in it will not open. I don’t have permissions to view any of it and I’m administrator. Isn’t that weird? (I checked) The folder says I don’t have permission to view it. It wouldn’t open here so I went to check the folder. It says click here to get permissions then freezes and will not even let me look at it. I had just checked windows updates which said they have no updates for me. I restarted and now it says Updates are underway. Hard to be confident in Windows Security when it’s been disabled every time repeatedly. Usually takes a day or two. Maybe this is my lucky time and it won’t disable! That would be great! Thank you so much for your help here!
  7. Then why can’t I open ANYTHING in security center? I could open it an hour ago. Now, Windows Security, Virus and Threat protection, account protection, firewall & network all of it, none of it will open. This has happened every single time I formatted and reinstalled, first I can’t open it, then the firewall is disabled, then defender. I get a notification for it but it’s happened without fail and since I can’t open it there’s no way to turn them back on OR make sure it’s set correctly.
  8. what about.... ATTENTION!=====> C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform\4.18.24050.7-0\MpDefenderCoreService.exe FILE IS MISSING.
  9. Windows Security won't open. I tried to check if it was still on, just now.
  10. Updated Microsoft store libraries. Intel drivers all still give errors. Desktop froze and went dark. Upon restart it booted to recovery. Set a system restore point just before this and had to do a system restore. The Intel Graphics Driver and OpenGL/Vulcan settings hotfix both downloaded through myasus. At least one installed by Windows Update. Not sure which drivers are left that I need. updates say they are finished l downloaded some programs after all was done, but I’m not opening or installing them until I am positive driver installation is finished. How can I tell which drivers I need? Several of the drivers for my model laptop at ASUS said my pc is not compatible
  11. Says it's updates but I have gotten errors on every driver I try to install. Trying to update Microsoft store libraries to see if that helps.
  12. I guess it needs the net framework from windows updates and driver can’t be installed first. Going on to windows updates.

  14. Meaning installed with all drivers and updates correct? Problem is the taskbar gets removed before it is done doing that. Hopefully it won’t this time. Starting now. :)
  15. I understand and can start over but the issue is this, every single time I format and do updates the taskbar is set correctly every single time but it goes away. With the taskbar gone and screen blinking, I cannot even get to recovery or safe mode. Safe mode gets hidden or disabled, and often so is recovery so in order to fix the taskbar I need a program to do so. Run gets hidden, so I customize the desktop so I can get around. If these programs weren’t installed I would not have been able to fix the taskbar, or boot to safe mode. This last time I was lucky and recovery wasn’t disabled yet. It literally has happened every single time without exception. Windows Security has also gotten disabled 75% of the time. And Windows Firewall. There’s no reason they should be getting disabled. I sure am not doing it. Anyway, I will try to start another format before I have to leave, or when I get back around 8pm pacific. Thank you.
  16. I have to go to the hospital tomorrow late afternoon but will check in here in the morning. And again, when i get back. Thank you for your help and time. Addition.txt FRST.txt
