  1. Thank you very much, yes you were really helpful and i appreciate it a lot! And yes i will for sure give recommendations if any of my friends or family ever need help, have a nice evening (mabye i got it wrong but i think its that time in your timezone :P)
  2. Yes removed everything, cleaned the drive and installed ubuntu.
  3. Thank you all very much for your help! Unfortunately i had to prepare some things for work tomorrow and i wasnt able to wait, so i uploaded all my important files to microsoft sharepoint and i clean installed ubuntu linux (thankfully the software i had to work with had a linux version). I know that my files might be compromised and that i shouldn't download them directly but i will scan them one by one later in a virtual machine + submit them to microsoft for analysis to be safe and root out any unwanted problematic ones. If by any chance you can answer me two last questions: does this malware spread to my home network? and what can i do to prevent the spread to my other devices such as other computers and phones? Also i want to get into malware removal and have found in a post here some links for such courses. Is there a course that you recommend most out of all of them? Again i appreciate you for the support and i am really sorry for wasting your time like this...
  4. Before i proceed with anything have a look at the log file, in case the scan from malwarebytes interrupted the process. Also a popup from defender came up i dont know if it had also potential to interrupt the fix. Have a look for yourself and tell me if it is necessary to repeat the process with all AVs turned off or if i should continue with Dr.Web. Thanks a lot! Fixlog.txt
  5. Also i want to thank both of you, i really apreciate what you are doing and the fact that you volunteer to help me and others. It is really honorable!
  6. There appears to be a problem, malwarebytes performed a scheduled scan in the background while i was performing the fix. Does this compromise the process? Also the fix has taken 10 to 15 mins and its still going, this is normal right?
  7. Thank you, i followed the procedure exactly as you described. Also i wanted to ask could my wi fi network be infected by this certain virus and could other devices on that network be compromised as well? Or does it affect only my pc until someone installs other malware through it? I am asking because i have a desktop pc on my network as well that has important data on it. If yes, what procedure should i follow to prevent further infections? Furthermore, do you happen to have any resource describing how to read log files like frst's, because out of curiosity I tried reading the logs myself and i could not understand them very well. I am interested a bit in malware removal procedures and i would like to know how it is done, thank you in advance! I am attaching the requested log files: Malwarebytes Scan Report 2024-07-23 122027.txt Addition.txt AdwCleaner[C00].txt FRST.txt AdwCleaner[S00].txt
  8. Hello, before 4 days i got a notification from win defender, it said that this trojan was detected: Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml. In my surprise it came from the utorrent installer file before i was able to download any torrents that could be suspicious, even though it could be an existing infection on my pc that infected the utorrent installer as well. Either way when i saw the threat it was too late because i had run the installer already. I read that this virus was very difficult to get rid of so i started scanning with wind defender (full scan), win defender offline, and scanned with malwarebytes as well in safe mode which detected another file as a heuristic (in the same family as wacatac) that i got rid of also. i repeated more scans which didnt find anything but as i read in this forum it might have been a bad idea... So i decided to reach out for help here if someone has any idea how can i tell if my pc is still infected or not. I am attaching the original detection from win defender and also my frst scan logs in case they are useful. Addition.txt FRST.txt
