  1. Okay, one MORE thing...I booted up in "last known good configuration" earlier and the same thing happened.
  2. One last thing. I couldn't find my Windows installation CD last time so I took one from a friend and used his license key number. It's XP Professional SP3, and I have no repair option on the disc.
  3. Nevermind, I just realized I can't install driver in Safe Mode... $hite.
  4. Okay, so I can get the log file for those who need it, but here's the basic jest of what's going on. Earlier this evening I ran MalwareBytes (full system scan) because I had an AvScan pop-up. 4 items found (each one was a trojan.fakealert). I deleted the items and rebooted. Now I boot up in Safe Mode just fine, but when I try to boot XP normally I get to the splash screen, see the blue bars...and then my screen goes black and my monitor light just flashes (as opposed to being solid and on when in Safe Mode). I DID just install a new graphics card on Saturday (1/17/10) but it had been working fine until I ran the scan and did reboot. I'm connected using DVI, so it APPEARS the drivers are working fine (right?) because I still get video off of a card that didn't come with the computer via DVI and I can see my desktop when using Safe Mode. I'm going to try reinstalling drivers and see if that fixes it, but should I post the log here as well? I don't want to reinstall Windows (I have a Dell and the disc doesn't seem to have a repair option). Btw I'm running a Dell Dimension with a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4, 2 GB DDR RAM, with an NVidia GeForce 8400 GS. Not sure of my motherboard type. Someone please help! Thanks
