The setting to block potentially unwanted apps is off under "App & browser control" (Window Security). Should this be turned on?

"how do I start recovering my data "". From where exactly? I have not yet downloaded my USB backup data, my chrome, google and MS edge backup data. I did allow Yahoo to sync data before you told me not to allow stuff like that, so I suspect my (virus, trojan, malware or whatever) is in on one of the not installed applications or my USB drive. I have no problem going back and running the BIOS check, but I do not know how to do this. I want to be as thorough as you want to be because I know you are the expert and I don't want to screw this up. My goal is to make sure I have a clean machine before proceeding.

Let's continue tomorrow, looks like all is good so far, how do I start recovering my data without allowing the virus or Trojan or malware from re-infecting my computer? I will run Malwarebytes between each upload.... or am I trying to get ahead of your troubleshooting?
