  1. Because Visual Studio shows no updates available (because everything else did install), I cannot verify this is the solution at this time. However, since it did resolve my issue using winget to install CPU-Z, I expect the next version upgrade will go smoothly. Thanks for the help!
  2. Simply changing the Penetration Testing setting to OFF as you suggested for my other issue worked great and allowed winget to perform the install. Thanks for the very quick help!
  3. Will do, thanks! (Are you Captain/Admiral Archer's missing dog?)
  4. While upgrading Microsoft Visual Studio (developer IDE), the installer attempts to update the C++ redistributable (I believe that is correct), but is blocked by MWB. Apparently, this uses Windows PowerShell v1.0 to perform the upgrade, but MWB treats it as a threat and blocks it. I am confident Micosoft is not distributing malware via their library resdistributable updates. How do I resolve this?
  5. While trying out winget, the Linux-like software updater for Windows, I used it to update my install of CPUID CPU-Z. Unfortunately, as soon as winget launched the CPUID installer, MalwareBytes Real-Time Protection immediately blocked it claiming it was an exploit affecting Microsoft OneNote. I am confident this is a false positive. Other than disabling RTP, how do I resolve this?
  6. I wonder if ad blocking and anti-tracking software that removes links/calls to ad services like Google's have actually helped avoid this Malwarebytes mistake for some users.
