  1. I agree, I know PC's that have issue with Threatfire it's a hit or miss if it works on your machine.
  2. Threatfire is a behavior scanner to work with you AV and Antimalware. It is not recommended to run just threatfire
  3. True, it may solve the problem for a while but won't solve it in the long run.
  4. Using heuristics, why would malware change your host file to 1mb+ size it would only normally make few changes. If MBAM dev's were to figure out how many sites malware try's to block via host files then figures out how big those changes are they could write a malware pattern file to detect if malware changed the host file. Well that's how I would do it Well most malware I have seen have only make 10-30 changes to your host file.
  5. A few other company's have it made where it only detects malicious changes so it's possible.
  6. The credit card is only if you sign up for ID guard protection.
  7. Just a note: It's ZoneAlarm PRO for free and if you become a fan on there facebook page you can get it early. By early you can get it right now!
  8. The pro version contains: Automatic Updates, Real Time Protection, and IP protection.
  9. I really don't know what to say
  10. I recommend Panda Cloud: Cloud AV Home Though everyone will each recommend there own favorite AV you may want to try each out and pick what one works best on your system.
  11. It's not an FP. MBAM just is warning you to a change that may be malicious but MBAM does not know what app changed it. So I would just add it to your ignore list if nothing malicious did it.
  12. I thought it was just my PC when MBAM spikes at odd times. The problem has been happening on my machine too but after the short spike cpu and mem usage goes back to normal.
  13. PC Tools firewall plus is light. From what I have read online the lightest firewall that is still actively supported is PrivateFirewall.
  14. No problem! Smaller incremental updates are planned for a latter version.
  15. You are not doing anything wrong, it's just more malware has been added.
  16. It does not slow down your machine, it will not conflict with Avira, and it does not have an email scanner.
  17. I personally use Panda Cloud and have had no issues with MBAM. I think the other av's have been tested and work with mbam: Avast!, Nod32, MSE, Kaspersky, AVG, G-Data. Make sure you add MBAM's to the ignore list of what ever av you chose. The only AV I know has issues with MBAM is Norton/Symantec
  18. Is there a possibility for MBAM to create a site that does noting but set of the MBAM IP shield so we can confirm it's working?
  19. Nope I am running Vista. After the reboot the tooltip icon has kept updated. It just seemed to have gotten stuck at 3935.
  20. I also had this happen with 3935, after a reboot the tray icon tooltip updated.
  21. I think some AV vendors do this but I do not 100% know what ones do.
