  1. Hi all. I am on a clean install after attempting to fix an issue where my MWB was deactivating itself, and turning off all protection. Everything seemed normal for a few weeks until yesterday, windows notified me MWB was not active so I had to manually open it. It it set to startup with windows and usually has been. I'm not sure if this is a malware issue so I am posting it here, as so far its more related to MWB it seems. Thank you in advance for any help.
  2. Sorry for the delay. I have the log attached. Checking for updates now shows it as up to date, not sure if that script fixed it. One odd thing I wanted to mention, is that earlier inside MWB, i got a popup that said "unable to contact licensing server..." or something similar to that. I closed it too fast to recall. Still shows premium is activated and running though. I know that was a MWB popup and not a windows, or virus related one. Fixlog.txt
  3. I can't get windows to complete its update. I click update, it says download security intelligenc etc....then disappears and says I am up to date. I tried manually installing the definition files from microsoft but none of the .exe's will start.. Any advice? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/defenderupdates
  4. Thanks. Yesterday windows was updating the security and it seemed to fail or stop, but i was able to get it completed. Looks like the clean install worked but ill keep watching it for a while. Thanks again for the help and your time
  5. Thank you, i have both logs attached. My pc started today with malwarebytes closed(i did not have it setup like that). After opening the app, its running ok. But something is amiss. This is a clean install, wiped all partitions. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  6. HI, just wanted to check with you first. I did a clean install of windows because this was apparently a tough virus/corruption. Can we still move forward with these tests? Since I didn't solve this before , I still would like to investigate to make sure my new install is safe to continue using. Thanks
  7. Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated. One last question, if the Windows OS repair program worked successfully, should I still investigate further? Otherwise looks like Im set, although I still think I will do a clean install soon...
  8. I upgraded directly from the MWB website, no pop up or anything. RE about deactivating the license and reactivating. I have done that already and it worked initially letting me input my email and login, says it accepts that but protecting still turns off and it deactivates. Then if i get an invalid token error if I try activating again. I did what you explained and its activated now, seems to be holding so far. The windows setup, that was initiated by me unless you see that's something else? I had downloaded the Microsoft media creation tool(I used it to try and repair my installation of Windows while keeping my data. So that should be from me Windows defender seems to be working now, everything is on and updated. I ran a scan of the C drive with no return. Also running hitman pro, I didn't get any detections this time. Prior to that(on 5/9) I was getting detection on Smartscreen.exe and Spoolshv, along with some old DLLs. Nothing this time, so thats good yea? One question is that I had the tamper protection enabled on my MWB with a passcode, that seems to not do anything to protect it , is that right? Just trying to figure out how this even occurred, Im very careful
  9. For the first part about report only, is it the log file in /LOGS? If so I have that attmbst-grab-results.zipached The mbst zip is attached also, thank you MBAMSERVICE.LOG
  10. I really appreciate your help. Heres the fixlog from after running that script. Cheers Fixlog.txt
  11. Ill stick to this website since it partially related to my MWB premium
  12. Sorry, if bleeping computer is also the same website Ill delete that one. Here is my safety scanner log, i did all drives though not only C. I will rerun if thats an issue msert.log
