Am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that as I'm typing in my e-mail address to log in, some red text keeps appearing and disappearing telling me the e-mail address I've entered is invalid. I'M NOT FINISHED TYPING YET!
The same thing goes for the password field. I use a password manager. I put in my e-mail address (ignoring the nagging red text) and then Alt-Tab over to my password manager to get my password.
When I Alt-Tab back, the password field is highlighted in red: THIS FIELD IS REQUIRED
I know.
For crying out loud, people! GIVE ME A CHANCE TO FILL IT OUT BEFORE TELLING ME ALL THE THINGS YOU DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE WAY I FILLED IT OUT!
That's not to mention, of course, that no one - zero people - need all that JS running on a login page. It's wasted CPU cycles, multiplied by every page load on every client that hits this site. It's a colossal waste of resources just to irritate me.
Turn that crap off. I know how to log into things. If I did it wrong, guess what? You can validate the fields after I submit them and tell me what I did wrong.
Until then, just sit and wait politely. Stop trying to "help" me so much.
