Twitch Appdata folder, 2 detections
samuelson replied to samuelson's topic in Resolved Malware Removal Logs
i'll pass then, i think the thing with the cache and logging back into everything would be a lot of trouble for me. i'll be switching to a new system soon anyways. thanks for all your help AdvancedSetup. have a good one! -

hello, i got 2 detections from malwarebytes just a little bit ago, two .EXEs in a Twitch appdata folder. I haven't used the twitch app before. i quarantined and had the files removed just to be safe. just wondering if this is a false positive. i haven't installed anything lately. please let me know if you need the log file. thanks.

alright, here are the logs. also, i just wanted to add that i noticed webroot in the tray icon thingy again even after uninstalling, maybe this little hiccup with malwarebytes freezing up was because i didn't uninstall webroot all the way. i'm going to try and finish the job after i'm done with this post. mbst-grab-results.zip

well, unfortunately, i had another problem. i always set the daily scans to run at midnight, but when midnight came this time malwarebytes just froze up and wouldn't respond. the window is on my taskbar but won't open every time i try to open it, and it won't close either. i'm pretty sure my actions before only made the situation worse, so i'd rather wait to do anything before trying the support tool or restarting. any advice? thank you in advance, sorry for all the trouble.

hey, sorry for taking so long to get back. long story short, i uninstalled webroot just because i had a feeling it was going to cause more problems and it was never really that reliable. i trust malwarebytes more. anyways, i'm pretty sure everything is over and done with, my only remaining concern is something to do with windows defender (sorry for getting so off topic). i've done a scan with malwarebytes two times now since it's been reinstalled onto my computer and no threats were detected, but windows defender still says actions in threats and scans are recommended for it. this message showed up when i had a problem with malwarebytes before and it reinstalled, but that message went away when i did my first scan since reinstall. so i guess this is just a visual error, but is there any way to make it go away? thank you for all your help, i really appreciate it and i'm glad to be done with this little problem. (for the most part)

yes, i just put it in and went ahead with installing malwarebytes. so i guess webroot didn't open by itself so that malwarebytes could go ahead and reinstall? i don't completely understand, but i'm running a scan now and if any threats are detected i'll let that be known. is it best to restart my computer again after the scan is done? thank you for all your help by the way
