  1. I cannot uninstall Bonjour as some apps I use on a daily basis use it. Fixlog.txt Search.txt
  2. I was trying to install mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 (singleplayer mods) and downloaded one from a site that seemed trustworthy. I don't believe the site was fraudulent, but the mod folder tested positive for trojans on VirusTotal. I deleted it but haven't wiped the recycle bin yet. Still worried, I wanted to install a temporary antivirus. After a quick search I decided I would install Max Secure. I searched for Max Secure on Google and the first result was maxpcsecure.com. I tested the installer on VirusTotal and it said it was distributed by Max Secure, so I thought it was safe. I installed the software but midway through I thought it looked a bit fishy and cancelled the installation. I can't remember if I gave it administrative permissions or not. After this, I left my PC overnight to scan with BitDefender after deleting the trojans, and it said there was nothing wrong. At the time of writing this, I'm using MalwareBytes to scan and it says there is 9 files detected. 8 of them are the temporary files of the Max Secure installation. I used VirusTotal to test the original website I downloaded it on, and it came up as malicious, I checked reviews on MyWot and they all say it is a distributor of rogue antivirus software. The mod folder that I installed for RDR2 is a zip file. I didn't open any of the executables or files inside. I should be safe, right? And if the Max Secure I installed was a rogue software, that just means it tries to get money out of me. Will it try to get my personal information too? How can I remove the malware and be sure that I am safe?
