  1. What do you mean? The former topic did end up with a proper conclusion, I ran a Windows /scannow command and those corrupt files were cleaned up. This new topic I just made is on a completely unrelated issue.
  2. UPDATE; typo in the post above, I meant about:blank, not page:blank. Mistake on my part. I've read that about:blank can be signs of a maleware, is this true in my case?
  3. I don't know if this is me just being weary, but every time I open a new tab in my browser (Google Chrome) I get a white flash. I thought that it might be some sort of redirect virus, like this one; https://blog.malwarebytes.com/detections/graizoah-com/ But that doesn't seem to be the case, it don't think it is a redirect or anything of that measure, I think it's just a problem Chrome has as I've seen some Reddit posts about it before. This also happens I am for on a page, for example the Malwarebytes blog; and I click on the Twitter, Facebook, or other social media links, for a split second it shows page:blank and has a similar white flash effect. https://blog.malwarebytes.com/reports/2021/06/two-google-plans-that-could-make-open-source-code-more-secure/ This white flash effect is very annoying and I would like to get rid of it, is there any patch? Or should I just switch to something like FireFox or Brave? This is especially annoying when browsing at night, it feels like a flashbang.
  4. The script is good but it is a bit overkill, I just did a /scannow command and removed the corrupted files that way. I think that's good enough for now at least. @AdvancedSetup
  5. @AdvancedSetup I've attached the results below. Please tell me if it's good. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  6. Okay, I'll install the program and I'll attach the .txt files. Sorry for the inactivity, time zones and all that, earlier today I also found PUP.Optional.BundleInstaller and I quarantined it and removed it.
  7. @AdvancedSetup My Windows Defender is saying this program is unsafe, and VirusTotal seems to agree. Is this fine?
  8. I don't really Torrent, I haven't Torrented in forever, my uTorrent is literally just there in case I will ever need to again. It's a bait habit but every time I get a new computer I install the software in case I ever need it. I understand Torrenting is pretty bad, and I will stop doing it. I never fell for those email scams, because I never really got them, my email is fairly private. With that being said, I do visit some sketchy websites; namely GoGoAnime for watching it with friends. Is this bad? I have the Browser Guard and the VPN, and I don't think I can get viruses just by visiting websites... right?
  9. I bought Malwarebytes, regularly do scans, use the Browser Guard, have a VPN subscription, I use DuckDuckGo for privacy, and I've went out of my way to make sure I get no sort of viruses what so ever on my computer. I care about my computer a lot, and I used to be very laid back about computer security, but recently I've been getting really paranoid about these viruses, I've been looking through my Task Manger, and scanning every single file that uses too much CPU power, and I haven't found anything too bizarre. WebHelper and helper.exe were in my uTorrent folder, so I got rid of those, but those were the only real """threats"" I found. No matter how many scans I do, and no matter how many files I go through, I am still incredibly paranoid about computer malware and my PC being infected. What other threats should I look for? What steps should I take in order to make my PC is 100% safe? :^)
