OK, I don't totally understand how the 'bad' gets in, but appreciate that MWB has to combat this and, sometimes, might be a bit too 'efficient' That'll do for my level of knowledge and understanding of computers, thanks ;) LOL Great that everyone has different range of knowledge re computers. No one can grasp the whole range LOL Again, many thanks for your expertise :)

Hi @AdvancedSetup Apologies for not getting back here sooner - busy days! The issue hasn't been occurring since i deleted the apps in your post of 6 June. I have a strong suspicion the culprit was the rogue Web Companion, which I got rid of. So now, Web Protection (Malwarebytes) is active again and all seems to be functioning. Consequently, I haven't done your other suggestions, as listed latterly on your post of 6 June, nor the re-scan, as suggested "After you've done the above go ahead and run the FRST program one more time and get me both new logs again to look at." Do you feel any of these should still be done. I can probably do them tomorrow, if I can't get them done today. Thanks very much -

Hi "7-Zip uninstalled? Just curious as to why. I actually use WinRAR and 7-Zip but find myself using 7-Zip more than WinRAR lately. It is a much more advanced open source tool than anything built into Windows 10" I don't use it that much and I can install it again LOL It seemed easier to do that than update 😏 "GeForce is a brand of graphics processing units designed by Nvidia Do you play a lot of games on the computer? " No, I don't play any games! "In your Device Manager under Display adapters you should be able to see which video card you have. " Thanks Web Companion and VdhCoApp 1.3.0 Both now removed (didn't think of checking in Prog & Features!) I'll run the scan(s) tomorrow and let you know results. I haven't tried Google with Web Protection on. Again, I'll check that tomorrow/ Thursday and get back to you Thanks, as always -

Thanks, @AdvancedSetup I've just updated: Keepass / LibreOffice / TeamViewer / Zoom However, Nvidia GeForce - unable to find how to update 7-Zip - Uninstalled VdhCoApp 1.3.0 - unable to find / remove. Associated with Video Download Helper so have uninstalled VDH Web Companion v.7.0.2388 - unable to find out how to remove Thunderbird - This is old version due to incompatibity with ReminderFox in newer versions. I'm currently trying to find out if newer version is, perhaps, compatible with current version of Thunderbird. Until I find out, I'd prefer not to update. Would you be able to advise me as to how to remove the files I can't find and also, how to update Nvidia GeForce, please? I've tried google but I don't seem to have the options suggested, for some reason etc. I apologise for taking up so much of your time but I'm very grateful for your expertise/knowledge ;) Many thanks -

Hi @AdvancedSetup Files attached I ran the more detailed scan as the default (simple) scan didn't seem to find anything., However, the more detailed scan found lots of PUPs etc, as you'll likely see in the msert.log It took over 4 hours to scan !!! LOL Thanks very much msert.log SecurityCheck.txt -
