  1. oops....missed the zips ! Au_.zip Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware.zip Logs.zip
  2. Cannot add the first one at all The second one will not add to the exclusions...."file name is not valid"
  3. Each and every time I uninstall a program I get a pop in the bottom right from mb anti ransomeware. (On this occasion when i removed logitech set point) C:users\admin\appdata\local\temp\_iu14d2n.tmp C:users\admin\appdata\local\temp\~nsu.tmp\au_.exe
  4. Similar issue. Protection turned off without any input from me. Clicked on 'fix it', and all is well.(?) C:\users\admin\appdata\local\temp\_ui14D2N.tmp appears to be a popular find on some occasions that I uninstall a program
  5. YAYYYYYYYY !!!!.......scan time reduced to 5 minutes and 44 seconds.....(scanned 168331 objects) NOW...I really need to know POSITIVELY, that this folder is NOT part of Norton 360. I believe it is a leftover from System works, which was installed on this PC some time ago...prob 2+ years ago. I would really like to delete it completely.,,as it uses a SWAG of space and serves no useful purpose etc etc.....and because if it is "ignored" by malwarebytes in the scanning process, i assume that gives the "nasties" somewhere to hide......and we certainly dont want that !! SO...how to delete?...i read somewhere about changing folder properties???.... we are on a roll here........thanks to Exile and Firefox...
  6. waiting, waiting....LOL....sorry.....excuse my impatience !.....I really do feel that C:\recycler\nprotect ......is the problem here. As soon as the scan comes to that file/folder, it PUTS THE BRAKES ON !!!!!.....It is going like a rocket until it reaches that file...then.....bogged down! I found a command that is supposed to delete the file...but after 15 minutes of searching for it,,...the general consensus was...file not found etc opinions seem to vary a little...but i need to know if i can delete it...and if so...how ? ! if i simply go to the files and try to delete there...I get the access is denied thingy. IS THERE A DEVELOPER ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE ????? HELP !!!! Brian
  7. I have just started a quick scan and the 'slow' point appears to be C:\recycler\nprotect (scanning at approx 7objects/second)
  8. Thank You Firefox for your prompt reply. I have carried out these instructions. Yes, we are using Norton 360. Should i now try a scan....or is there more to do? Brian
  9. Hello,..... Windows XP SP3.....3gb ram...3.00Ghz.......300GbHDD Norton 360......malwarebytes paid version I have uninstalled malwarebytes..rebooted..run malwarebytes 'clean'...rebooted....reinstalled malwarebytes.....cleaned out old restore points..established a new restore point. Ran a "quick"scan.......objects scanned 175,891...time elapsed 1 hour 52 minutes and 48 seconds !!! {{Total files on PC (according to dir /s /a-d c:\ command) is 134,573 !?}} On my second PC the same 'quick" scan takes approx 6 - 7 minutes and covers 81000 objects Is there something lurking in the innards ? just to add to my consternation....i read apost on malwarebytes forum which said that extra time can be taken if mbam is scanning more than one profile.....so i checked how many profiles on the pc and there are 2 !!.....I thought there would only be one......the size of one profile is 1.2GB...the other is 12MB......one created in 7/2010...the other in 4/2011.....neithger my wife nor I have any idea what the second profile is....or which one is which for that matter. ! I also opened task manager.....in applications, Mbam is shown running.....but approx each 7 - 14 seconds it shows "not responding" for 2 seconds...then returns to running and this repeats incessantly. In performance...the cpu usage goes from around 11% to 14....to 44...to 18......to 7....to 40.....etc etc The whole malwarebytes thing seems to be working in slow motion......a click on the reduce bar ...takes upwards of 7 seconds for it to reduce to the task bar....it feels like it running in sand. I'm Lost !! Brian ps...all scans do come back clear....but because of the weird behaviour compared to my other pc....i do not feel i can trust it. pss.paid version of malwarebytes.
  10. G'day all....I found this ??..in my firewall list......it is not blocked......the research i did seems to indicate it is part of a trojan??......I do not have sufficient smarts to know...... Malware bytes scan did not detect it.......nor did advanced system care.......nor did windows live onecare. malware bytes did pick up ...ISft.exe Does anybody have a clue??
