  1. Update: I wanted to mention it seems to be only one folder that causes this error when I scan it. I was reassured by someone at the MB Team that DgVoodoo2 the DLL's being detected as Malware.Heuristic.1003 was a false positive. He told me to turn off the heurisitic scanner in MB. That's what I did before I started receiving the error. It's only that DGVoodoo2 zip file I've extracted that causes that update error when I scan it. So if it's doing that does that mean it's not a false positive and it's truly malware?
  2. When I initiate a manual scan of a folder: I'm getting the error: "Something went wrong - One or more items in the current update did not complete successfully. Please check your internet connetion and try again. If you need more help, visit our support site." It only happens intermittently mostly and before it was happening even if I tried to initiate a manual update. I temporarily fixed it by telling Windows 11 to prefer IPv4 or over IPv6. I decided not to turn off IPv6 on my router, but I'm wondering if that would fix the error. I've already tried using the MB Support Tool to do a clean install of Malwarebytes. It came up with various errors saying the install had failed even though it had in reality completed successfully. It was strange because it initiated the repair install but then went totally quiet and then once the install was finished it tried to act again. I'm not sure what is going on here. I do know my connection isn't always the most stable and my ISP is known for being unstable particularly when it comes to the DNS servers being overloaded, so I am using Nord's DNS servers on my router instead of my ISPs'. The strange thing is I tried to initiate a manual update after the scan. It completed ok. Is this just a bug in the newest Malwarebytes you need to sort out?
  3. My copy of Malwarebytes detects the dlls included with DgVoodoo2 as Malware.Heuristic.1003 and I quarantined them. I was reading online that Virustotal sees the config file for DgVoodoo2 as malware but all of it is supposedly false positives because it's more heuristic than real, but Malwarebytes doesn't see the config file as malware only the dll files included with DgVoodoo2. I read they are seen as malware because they inject code into the game so that it emulates Voodoo video cards for older games. Even the creator of DgVoodoo2 says his emulator being detected as malware is a false positive here: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11 - Page 39 \ VOGONS And someone else has the same concerns but everyone at the GOG forum reassured them DgVoodoo2 is perfectly safe: Concerns About dgVoodoo 2 for Blood 2, page 1 - Forum - GOG.com I wanted to verify with you this is a false positive because I use DgVoodoo to play my older games purchased on GOG or Steam on my newer system because the older games were made for older hardware. Are DgVoodoo2 dlls a false positive.txt
  4. Is Sof.exe a false positive? I patched the Good Old Games Soldier of Fortune main executable Sof.exe with the SoF patch (sofplus-client-patch-20140531-gog.zip) from https://sof1.megalag.org/sofplus/. As you can see here: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009978233-Soldier-of-Fortune-Platinum-Edition?product=gog GOG recommends this patch to get the game running: "Known solutions to game issues Soldier of Fortune - SoFplus If you encountering issues with the Soldier of Fortune, some might be fixed by installing this unofficial patch which is available HERE. - Please download the archive with SoFplus(client version) - Unpack it to the game installation folder(default: C:\GOG Games\Soldier of Fortune). If the game was installed via GALAXY, please select the game in GALAXY, click on the icon on the right side of the PLAY button -> Manage Installation -> Show Folder - Launch sofplus-client-patch.cmd - Unpack files from the .zip into the game installation folder and overwrite files when asked" However, after patching the game Malwarebytes sees it as MachineLearning/Anomalous.100%. While the patch itself shows no detections as far as I can tell, Soldier of Fortune's main executable does afterwards. I can't get the game to run without it so I need to know if it isn't a false positive so I can refund the game to GOG.
