Hello guys!
Lately ive been having some problems with one of my USB drives... Its an old one i had from when i was younger, and i had to format a device. Now i wanna get access to some files i had in that USB, but when i plug it in, windows defender detects Hacktool Win32 Keygen, and warns me about a possible trojan virus. Im able to "destroy" the "virus", caused by - you guessed it - a hacktool i used 6 years ago to hack a screen recording software, by simply pressing the available options in Win Defender, but im still worried about the files i keep in the drive. If that keygen tool really has a virus, are the other files infected too? What if i connect the USB to my PC and straight up delete the keygen tool? If it carries a virus will it go away along with the tool? btw after using the USB I scanned my pc with malwarebytes and seems ok, so maybe there is no virus and im just getting trolled... Please help!
