  1. I've just done all the cleanup and fortunately I've not ran into any more issues so hopefully I should be fine! I actually lent my laptop to my roommate and it got infected / MaskVPN installed when she downloaded and opened some kind of file -- she's normally pretty good with computers but I guess everyone slips up from time to time, luckily we're good friends and she was very apologetic! Thank you for all the help 👍
  2. Hi, I tried removing all the threats from Quarantine again and fortunately this time it worked! I indeed didn't install MaskVPN and it seems to have only showed up yesterday when my laptop got infected. When I tried to uninstall it in Control Panel I got an error message saying that it had already been uninstalled, so I just used Revo Uninstaller to remove its leftover files/registry keys, hopefully that's OK but I'll have a look to see if anything else has been left behind. Everything seems to be working OK at the moment but I'll post again if I run into any issues, thanks again for all the help!

  6. Hi, Malwarebytes detected and quarantined some malware during a scan, and afterwards, when I tried to remove the threats from Quarantine, Malwarebytes prompted me to restart to complete the removal process; however, when I accepted the prompt, Windows froze on the restart screen (the ring of dots stopped moving and I couldn't move the cursor), so I had to force my laptop to shut down. I've restarted the normal way through Windows and it's been fine, but both times I've tried to restart through Malwarebytes when removing malware it froze. All the threats are still in Quarantine and I'm worried they're not properly removed from my computer. Thank you for any help!
