  1. Thank you again for your support in identifying the cause of the issue with Virustotal scan results for Malwarebytes. Unfortunately I was not able to get past generic answers from their support, the first support request I opened with Virustotal about this very issue with Malwarebytes scan was dated back 20 april 2021 and still they have not openly admitted the issue they are experiencing to get your up to date whitelist to suppress false positives, nor told me anything about being working with you to fix this problem. At least now I've some source of information to point to worried users reporting me about the false detections they find on Virustotal.
  2. Thank you very much for clarifying the issue. With Virustotal support I was not able to get past canned answers, I'm glad to know the problem is being managed.
  3. Thank you very much for the prompt response. This very same false positive with Malwarebyte keep happening at each version on Virustotal, and only with Virustotal (Malwarebytes does not flag the file as malicious on my machines, and your feedback confirm that). I've reported the issue to them various time since then and all what I got is that they are not responsible for the result of the scans and that the vendors must be contacted (even if I repeated countless times to them I already did it being confirmed the file is clean, and that their own policy informed users that Virsutotal uses custom configuration for the scan which may led to results different from commercial product, so they must respond of that differences). I've contacted them again pointing out your answers about that the file should not be flagged, I hope in a more appropriate support from Virustotal this time.
  4. Virustotal scan with Malwarebytes reports false positives for PeaZip Portable 8.0.0 (and for some older versions) as MachineLearning/Anomalous.97% see in example: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8f059ee8fc9caaaf752c8cc9d3dc274dc99bae8d3bd891524a0c45acd3f018bc/detection https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/c51bb457a1ac2705128a4bf5a75e0e028737edf4b1d2c1014f91507f20dad7d1/detection I'm the developer of PeaZip, please let me know if I can do something on my side to avoid this false positive detection for the future, and please - if possible - take care to fix the false positive detections occurring on existing PeaZip Portable packages. Kind regards, Giorgio Tani
  5. Scanning with MalwareBytes on my local machine does not bring any warning - I tried scanning the 32 and 64 bit installers, both either compressed and uncompressed. However the scan conducted by Virustotal (which is held as reference by end users) with Malwarebytes reports "MachineLearning/Anomalous.97%". At this point, I suspect there is something in their configuration that differs significantly from out-of-the-box MalwareBytes configuration, but I've no clue about how helping them to fix the issue.
  6. Hello, new PeaZip Portable 7.9.0 packages for Windows, both 32 and 64 bit, are detected (it is a false positive) by MalwareBytes as MachineLearning/Anomalous.97%, see in example Virustotal scan report: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/a557a77f21a0f8b11e051edaaa92a6e3c0c2502d46bae8c69c15923ad1f524ac/detection Please let me know if I can do something on my side to avoid this issue in future releases. Kind regards, Giorgio Tani
