Thanks for confirming no malware is infecting my computer. I performed a clean boot earlier this month to no avail. My other theories were to replace old hardware (that needs replacing anyway): Power supply: Occasionally makes a terrible grinding sound from the fan which is fixed with a.. "love tap".. CPU: It's been with me through 2 PC builds, and stressed from time to time more so than the average user I would say what with streaming for some time, producing music in ableton etc. Motherboard: has also been with me through the 2 builds and is out dated to say the least. From your knowledge could any of these be contributing to my problem? It's my last resort to update all of those with the addition of an SSD M.2 to boot off of (my current motherboard does not support M.2)

Sadly this does not help me :/. I can hear my computer fans increasing in speed as well. For example when i switch tabs within task manager from processes to app history (where it doesn't monitor usage). And it's not reading 100%, although I've seen that from what nukecad posted so i appreciate that update. I'm at the point to where I want to wipe my entire SSD and start from scratch. This would absolutely eliminate the possibility of malware, is that correct?

I've seen similar posts but cant fix my issue. CPU usage high for a split second when opening task manager then it drops to <5%, sometimes its at 99%, sometimes 65% but no matter what I can't get it to stop. I've even noticed it when going completely idle with nothing open. I thought it could be a cryptojacker/bitcoin miner but malwarebytes, adwcleaner, AVG and the like wont detect any problems. I've ran 10 + scans on all of them. These are the notes from the last malwarebytes scan i did just a few minutes ago with 0 threats detected.
