Hi Kevin, so far so good. Isn't Malwarebytes Premium a yearly subscription? I'd still like to get a different Anti Virus but the more I read about different offerings the better I feel about Windows Defender. Instead of Windows Firewall I'm using the Zone Alarm Firewall - what do you think? I'm trying to follow your last directions and am I supposed to click on the Frst download on THIS page or is it supposed to be ON MY computer? (I don't have a FRST.exe - but a FRST64.exe). I know the question sounds stupid but I tried clicking the one on THIS page (nothing) so I tried right clicking the FRST64.exe on MY computer and didn't get an uninstall option. Consequently I didn't proceed yet with the other steps. Forgive me, I know it's silly but you've been so helpful and understanding and only with your guidance and patience have I been able to come this far - I DON'T want to mess it up now. Hi Kevin, sorry I took a couple days to get back but I wanted to see if my computer would show any indication it was still infected or when operated it behaved in a strange way. In addition I ran a few different online scanners - they all came back clean and the puter is running fine. Being impoverished I looked to find a free virus protection program. I know Windows 10 has a built in VP program but I'd read that some other brands were slightly better. I wanted one that has a high detection rating and doesn't have those constant nagging popups to upgrade. I wasn't concerned things like password or URL protection, or other advanced features. I settled on Bitdefender but I wasn't able to install it despite trying ALL the all recommendations on how to do it. So, for now I'll stay with the Windows Defender program and consistent to keep it updated. Kevin, I can't tell you how relieved I am by knowing that any personal/banking/critical information isn't being read by Igor or Yang Cho! I don't have much so what I DO have I have to be especially careful where it goes! I haven't tried yet but I'd like to make a small donation. FINALLY! Hi Kevin. thanks for your post! I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you till now. On Friday, while I was RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of applying the fix you recomended I was dragged to a beach house for a Super Bowl weekend. Don't get me wrong - it was a great time (from what I remember) but it was a bit of a hassle. My team wasn't in it and - my computer was STILL MESSED UP. I suppose I could've "fixed" it at the house but I wanted to make sure I did it right and I didn't want to use it till I knew it was ok. (By the way, like I said, on Friday I had started to run the scans. and did the "First 64/Fixlist.txt" and even though it seemed to run fine it didn't erase the items in the recycle bin or the cookies. So, I used the CrapCleaner program to delete them and CC supposed to clean other things too like the registry and temp files, etc, I hope it was allright, I think between the two programs I got everything but I'm not sure. ) Anyhow, I think I did all the scans twice as I'm not sure what I did on Friday - I'm posting the last scans I did below. Please take a look and tell me everything's ok now. THANKS!!! I calmed down and know this infection thing can be fixed but I don't want to go through this again. So until he gets older - my nephew is banned from using my stuff! I know I risk my "cool aunt" status but at least it might keep me from getting arrested for beating a minor, becoming an alcoholic, and having someone in Russia using my credit cards! i'm kidding but I am upset that he downloaded online games, programs, and probably porn when he SAID he would not! I know anyone can get infected but knowing that there are certain types of sires where it is more likely I asked him not to go to them. After I found I was infected he admitted to going to them - I should have known better - oh well, my fault! BUT I love him.
