I didn't do that, instead I thought replacing chrome.exe which is where the virus ma have existed. I deleted it but only to the recycle bin and downloaded the installer because i knew running that would just open chrome, replaced it by renaming it as chrome.exe, deleted it, got the original on back and the issue doesn't exist anymore. Thank you so much for the help kevin. Appreciate it.

So i have tried microsoft's safety scanner. it did not do anything, issue still persists. Also the issue is specific to chrome, none of the other browsers are opened

Still the issue persists, Malwrebytes is still having to block connection from a trojan Fixlog.txt

i am pretty sure it is not, how do i remove it

Hi kevinf80, thanks for the advice, but after trying this twice, it has not worked for me. What used to happen is a scam website would open, however after downloading MalwareBytes, it blocks the site from opening as it recognizes it as a trojan. I believe this is some kind of adware although im not sure. I have run an adwcleaner scan already as well as multiple scans and 2 scans for the whole drive w the OS including scanning for rootkits. The malware still exists however isnt detected by malwarebytes. Please Help. Thank you

Hi, My little brother unknowingly downloaded a random exe file for a game from the internet and i fear it is a malware of some kind. After he ran it the first time, randomly website started opening every couple seconds, therefore i downloaded malwarebytes for help. It seems as if the malware is still running though, as malware bytes keeps on repeatedly showing RTP detection Trojan. Please Help Me. mbhelp.txt
