  1. Hello, I followed the suggestion from @Porthos to update Windows and the suggestion from @exile360 to let the computer sit idle for a while and the issue seems to have improved significantly. I still see 100% when I open Task Manager but after a few seconds it drops significantly. Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host and Microsoft Windows Search Protocol Host are not there anymore and the fan seems to not be going too often like it used to. Thank you very much @Porthos, @exile360 and @AdvancedSetup, I really appreciate the help!
  2. Like 3 weeks ago, I opened my laptop to install a second RAM. But I understand it could just be a hardware issue. Is there anything you would recommend me to do with the Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host and Microsoft Windows Search Protocol Host to try and bring down the usage a little bit? Or is that just part of Windows and it is always like that? Thanks!
  3. Hello @Porthos, Thank you for your reply. I have updated Windows, the problem seems to still be the same and now I also see my CPU usage not drop as much after a few seconds. Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host and Microsoft Windows Search Protocol Host combined seem to be using around 30% of the CPU all the time, even when nothing else is running. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!
  4. Hello, My concern started with the fan constantly running, but I guess, if task manager showing that it is running at 100% is normal for a few seconds, the fan issue is just a problem with the hardware in my laptop because CPU definitely drops significantly after a few seconds. I really appreciate your help, everything was super clear! Thank you very much!
  5. Hello, Here is the latest log, the problem still exists. Thanks! Fixlog.txt
  6. Hello, I ran the scan and nothing was found. I am attaching the log. Thanks! EsetScan.txt
  7. Hello, No problem, I had to pause the scan because it was quite late for me as well. I put the computer to sleep overnight and resumed it today, it just finished. I hope that pausing the scan and resuming after is not a problem. I am attaching the report. Thanks! ScanDec14.txt
  8. Hello, Thank you very much for your quick reply. I am attaching the requested text files. Thanks! ScanDec13.txt AdwCleaner[C00].txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  9. I can hear the fan in my laptop running most of the time, it stops once I open Task Manager. When I first open task manager I see 100% usage and a few seconds later it drops. I have a decent laptop with 16GB of RAM and Core i7 8th gen, this happens even if I only have a browser open. I read that most likely it is a Bitcoin miner or something of that nature, I would really appreciate some help getting rid of it since Malware seems to not able to detect it. Thanks!
