Okay then, I will get one of the free anti viruses. Which one is the absolute best out there? I have used AVG Free before, and liked it until 8.0 when it gave too many features I didn't need. Also, what about Windows Defender? I disabled it. Should I turn it back on?

MBAM is great at detecting malware so I purchased the full protection and so far I love it. My only concern is recently I recieved a large pop-up on the internet followed by an exclaimation box telling me to click 'ok' to install an antivirus of some sort, which was obviously an attempt to make me download spyware to my computer, so I clicked the X. So my question is, is MBAM by itself good enough for protection? I don't have any complaints other than that recent ad.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is the only scanner that detected the infection on my computer last week. A helpful member at another forum directed me to the program. I just want to say "Thank you!" to all those who created and maintain MBAM. I purchased the full protection and it is now my primary anti-malware software.
