  1. Buying a new computer is the plan. This one is getting old anyway. Thanks for the advice and support.
  2. Good Morning, That utility unfortunately does not support my hard drive for anything more than read/write tests. I've yet to find a utility that does diagnostics. I contacted Samsung directly and they couldn't offer anything. I've attached a picture of the speed test. At this point, I think we can give up. I started down this rabbit hole because something had happened to my computer overnight that stopped me from enjoying one of my favorite games online: Super Smash Bros. Melee. Somewhere in doing all of this cleaning and resetting, it has now become functional again. That was my end goal. I know there's plenty of other people on this site that could use your help so I think your efforts should be directed towards them. If there's a place I can donate, I will. I really appreciate all the effort on your end to try and resolve this.
  3. That does sound like it'd take awhile. If you have any other available avenues I'd like to explore those first. Samsung makes the drive that Windows is on. Toshiba makes the other one. The model is PM810. I downloaded SSDLIFE Pro to look at the health and it seemed to come back positive with 73%. Picture attached.
  4. Windows Telemetry was partially disabled. I'm pretty sure I remedied that end. The only other firewall I'm aware of is the one on the router and I disabled that. I ran the scan again in safe mode but it still froze at 67%. In case that's just a coincidence I've attached a new cbs. Could this be a hardware issue? CBS.log

This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 67% complete. Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. 6. I'm on Windows 7 and couldn't find an equivalent for your instructions so I ran it on reset. Dismounting wasn't an option. Here's what I got from the cmd.exe: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. (Y/N) I typed 'y' and it notified me it would check on restart. I then restarted it and the check disc took 10 minutes or less. I started looking at my phone and when I turned back it was done and I was at the log in screen.
  7. Didn't realize they were there. I was unfamiliar with that initial syntax. I've attached 3 files from that same folder, just in case the last checksur log wasn't what you were looking for. logs 2.zip
  8. Ok, I think these are both of them. I did some googling to try to figure out how to locate them so let me know if I messed up. Really small files, why zip them? logs.zip
  9. Let me first say, thank you for sticking with me on this. I really appreciate the help. Here's what we got: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. 10. So basically the same thing happened as before: Ran FRST again. After 4.5 hours I assumed the program had locked up so I did a hard reset. Tried to boot up in Safe Mode and that failed so I did a hard rest again. The reset triggered the "check disc", which came out fine to my knowledge. It still produced a Fixlog, so I've named it Fixlog1. To make sure everything went correctly, I reset my computer and ran FRST again. It completed and reset again and checked the disc. I've attached that fixlog as Fixlog2. If it helps your diagnosis at all, the CPU usage ranges between 10-40 while doing the FIX but the CPU Usage History shows an almost consistent 100% usage. My mouse pointer slows down and nothing responds to a double click on the desktop for minutes/if at all. Fixlog 1.txt Fixlog 2.txt
  11. Thank you! I've attached the logs. The scan completed in about 10 minutes. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  12. Ran FRST again. After 5.5 hours I assumed the program had locked up so I did a hard reset. The reset triggered the "check disc", which came out fine to my knowledge. It still produced a Fixlog, so I've named it Fixlog1. To make sure everything went correctly, I reset my computer and booted up in safemode to run FRST again. It completed and reset again and checked the disc. I've attached that fixlog as Fixlog2. Fixlog 2.txt Fixlog 1.txt
  13. I updated most of the programs but deleted many that could've been updated as well. swMSM - Not sure how to delete a hidden program. I deleted reg keys associated with it to delete the program, but the report makes it seem like it's still there. I've attached a new security check file. Deleted: NVIDIA GeForce Experience 3.13.1.30 v.3.13.1.30 Cisco Webex Meetings v.40.6.1 Microsoft Office Starter 2010 - English v.14.0.4763.1000 Microsoft Office 2010 v.14.0.4763.1000 Skype™ 7.30 v.7.30.105 QuickTime 7 v.7.79.80.95 Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6 v.11.6.5.635 Adobe Reader X (10.1.12) MUI v.10.1.12 SecurityCheck.txt
  14. Thank you again for your assistance. Attached is the requested file. As a note, I usually keep Windows Defender on but disabled it 2 days ago while sorting out a separate technical issue. SecurityCheck.txt
  15. Thank you for your help! After deleting Bonjour, I followed your instructions above but had many issues including FRST64 stalling after 3.5hours of running the 'Fix'. I manually emptied my recycling bin in hopes this would help and it actually completed the 'fix' the second time I ran it. I then did all of the other steps as listed above. I've run Malwarebytes twice since and it's still crashing. I've re-run mb-check and attached the file. Thanks for your help with this. mb-check-results.zip
  16. It stalls at about 1 hour and 30 minutes each time. I've downloaded the MB check and run the scan. Files attached. mb-check-results.zip
