  1. I reread your 2020 posts, thank you. I am a little surprised that scans of so many file types doesn't occur especially when I get Scan complete. Awesome! No threats were detected. Thank you for the virustotal link.
  2. When I Right-click, Scan with Malwarebytes on a file, and get Scan complete. Awesome! No threats were detected, what does this mean? I thought the files was being tested to see if the file is safe or affected by a virus. Are you saying this isn't so?
  3. Thank you, I thought I had. I am also a forum moderator elsewhere so I should have known better 😏
  4. Thank you, I have that set and still have the Dash Board start up on Scan Complete- No threats detected. In fact that setting seems to make no difference set or unset ?
  5. When I download a file and do a virus scan, for no threat I am happy with the green Scan Complete window. How do I avoid the Dashboard also opening and needing to be closed. It is just an extra unneeded click. Can we please have a setting to disable Dashboard display for no threat result.
  6. If the Dashboard always opens as well as the small green Scan Complete, then I wonder why I have only recently seen it. Maybe I had something on my system blocking it? In any event it is not needed and is an extra click to close. I see from David's above I should post this in a different section as a suggestion.
  7. I am right clicking on files I download from the internet or files I am about to execute/unzip/open etc. So exe, pdf, zip, docx, xlsx etc
  8. As far as I am aware, it is only the latest version with the new Dashboard. Prior to that, when I right moused a file in Windows file manager and selected Scan with Malwarebytes, I received the small Green Scan complete window in bottom right of Windows screen only. I still get that, but in addition I get the superfluous Scanner screen in Dashboard. Maybe it is a marketing addition, but it should be a turn off option.
  9. What is the mechanism for requesting this? It is an unwanted new addition.
  10. When I download a file and do a virus scan, for no threat I am happy with the green Scan Complete window. How do I avoid the Dashboard also opening and needing to be closed. It is just an extra unneeded click. Cheers Ian
  11. The Windows Security Center setting was set to off. Thank you for your considerable help. The advice about the need for specific file scanning is useful. What level of Malwarebytes do I need to get CLI? Cheers Ian
  12. I have Malwarebytes Premium. I have a standard Windows 10 install so have Windows Defender. I wasn't aware I needed to activate it. That said I thought it was considered unwise to have two antivirus programs active at the same time? I
  13. I did not know this. I am uncomfortable about one of these files which might have a virus, sitting on my disk until executed. What if I sent the file to a friend or other machine ? What files are scanned when I say select a folder of files?
  14. In Total Commander, when I right mouse on a file, I get the attached popup. I then select Scan with Malwarebytes and file is scanned. I am just trying to eliminate the right mouse and select by using another key command. Is that what you mean by Contextual menu option in Windows Explorer is set to Enabled. ?
  15. Thank you for your reply. Is there an alternative solution. I am told of the following in the registry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell --for folder -- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
  16. Sorry if this has been covered before.I have Malwarebytes Premium. My file manager is Total Commander. When I select a file in Total Commander I can right mouse\Scan with Malwarebytes. I would like to assign a key command to do this in Total Commander. I asked in their forum and they suggested asking here for the command line to do this. Can you please assist. Thank you for any help. Cheers Ian
