  1. I can do that but I am kind of leaning toward the obvious that it is something related to the Surface as I have 4 other machines all with SEP and MB on them that are operating without issues. The key is once Ransomeware is off the problem ceases and the machine acts completely normal. Only when that particular engine is on that it goes awry. All other MW engines are still on and the laptop works fine.
  2. This is brand new built Surface 4 install so MB was just installed. The Ransomeware Protection is turned OFF and the machine operates normally with Web Protection ON. You steps above refer to Web Protection NOT Ransomware module? Same process or something different? Symantec SEP 14.2 (latest build 14.2.5569.2100) is running on this in conjunction with MW but I also have this same config on 4 other machine that seem to be running ok. Please advise and if process is the same i will forge ahead with gathering data.
  3. I reinstalled Windows via wiping the drives and seems to eliminated the problem...mostly. still random hangs but machine is suable at this point. Maybe corruption of some type but I have Surface Pro that definitely still has problem even after complete wipe and reinstall.
  4. Same problem here with a Surface Pro 4. If MW Ransomeware is OFF then the machine is suitable for use and has no issues but once that is enabled machine hangs, waits, processes slow until to a crawl and basically makes machine useless. Reboot does not fix. Latest version of Windows 2004 - 19041.208.
  5. All, Latest update with MB 4.1.056, Component Package Version 1.0.889 causes slow down and errtic mouse mouse and lockups, slow boot and machine reallyunusable until RANSOMEWARE protection off and then mahcine goes back to normal. Windows 10 - 2004 (have installed on 5 other machines and MB works fine for the most part random slow downs but nothing like this machine). I was working with tech support and determined that it was either web protection - proved that it was not or ransomeware protection. PROVED That this module is the culprit. I have tried turning it on and within 1 minute the mouse begins erratic behavior and machine is unusable - in other words slows down to a crawl...literally the start menu takes r5 minutes plus to even open to get task manger to come up same time. Reboot does nothing and also takes 10 minutes plus to boot. This machine is full SSD , dual XEON processors with 32GB of RAM. Seems odd that this was working previously with no problems and after latest 4.1 version has turned to garbage. I have 5 paid licenses and this is not what I paid for to TS problems. Any help would be appreciated and if anyone else is having these problems please sound off. The Win10 version is slated for release within next week so I have a sneaky idea this might become more and more prevelant.
