  1. Yes, I will definitely make time and look at these links as I know my knowledge is a bit lacking when it comes to computers. Many thanks for all your time and help fixing my system, it has been very much appreciated. And the laptop seems a good bit faster now as well
  2. It all seems fine now with office, word and excel these last few times I've used the laptop. The only worry remaining is still being able to click on a dangerous website by mistake – I did the reset that you suggested earlier on my chrome browser but the green safe ticks are still missing. Is there anything else I could maybe try to fix this?
  3. Hi, Here's the new log, am I right in thinking everything is looking ok now? Fixlog.txt
  4. Hi there, Hope you had a nice weekend. I don't know why but that worrying message ''the application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142. Click to close application'' has not come up again the last couple of times I've switched on the laptop. Can you please reassure me I'm safe to run the SFC bit now, and I'll do it ASAP? Thanks
  5. When I opened up the laptop today it came up with a new message - ''the application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142. Click to close application''. I tried to open up both word and excel to take a printscreen to show you but that caused Office to try and open up and update, unsuccessfully. I thought I'd better mention this before I ran the latest fixlist, just in case this would cause a problem. Am I ok to proceed?
  6. A system restore point was created first as happened last time I ran FRST64, but then, instead of the fix taking over an hour like before it finished after just a few seconds this time. Just wanted to check I've done it correctly. The fixlist is no longer on the desktop where I thought I'd put it. Fixlog.txt
  7. No, I don't have anything like that. Am I to try and use the 7 zip? - should I use version 19 or 20?
  8. Hi, Here's the the image file sitting on my laptop file.docx
  9. I thought I'd try to compress the image file into a zipped file but still too big. I've got a 16GB drive I could use. I'm in Scotland
