  1. Hi Maurice, Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it. I realised what I was seeing in the console might have been the ads that Chrome Adblocker was blocking, and it was creating a lot of error messages as console logs based on that? Everything is hopefully back to normal now anyway, and computer seems to be alright Again, thank you very much for your help!
  2. Hi, Firstly, thank you for taking the time to help with this Are you familiar with a malware ad network known as "eu.y.atwola.com" or "s.yimg.com" or "edgecast.vod.yimg.com"? (please see screenshots attached) I was recently in contact with a developer who sent me some code, but its causing some strange behaviour in my browser, and as soon as I open Yahoo Mail my computer slows down and the fan turns on immediately, then in the console log there are hundreds of error messages about these above ad networks trying to launch. I googled them and it shows they're malware, some sort of browsing tracker to generate ad revenue. But my Malwarebytes and Kapersky are coming back negative, although people have said this malware manages to get through them. How do I get this out of my yahoo account, or has my email been compromised now? I have included some screenshots below Any help would be very much appreciated Thanks again Addition.txt FRST.txt malwarebytes 8-5-20.txt
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply I deleted it now, but it was basically a zipped file about 7mb big, but when i tried to unzip it it said error and the zipfile was empty. Then the chat suddenly disconnected and froze, but everything else was working ok, and so I quickly deleted it and did a system restore. But then I noticed my internet kept disconnecting throughout the day. So I did a system restore and things seem better now. Hopefully everything is back to normal, and like you say, if my IP is hidden hopefully I'm safe now! Many thanks!
  4. Hi, Thank you for your help. I ran Kaspersky and it came back negative I'm sure this person did some sort of Denial of Service while in the chat session, it was perfectly coordinated Is it possible this person can do this again or infect my computer if he knows my IP address? And what kind of precautions can I take to protect myself? Does resetting the router change my IP? Many thanks again
  5. Hi, I was recently chatting in a webchat and suddenly the chat disconnected and I lost internet connection, and the person I was chatting to gave me the impression that he somehow instigated it. Just before then I was a bit too trusting and was told to download a file which I stupidly did, but now I keep losing internet connection I deleted the file and did a system restore, but I still keep losing internet connection at crucial moments Has this person somehow hacked my IP and sent me a virus? This connection issue has only literally happened since then, my internet has been strong up until that point Is this a virus or some kind of malware? Any help to understand what is going on would be much appreciated. Also is there any way to permanently change my IP to stop this person accessing / attacking? Many thanks malwarebytes log.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  6. Hi Nasdaq, Thanks for that How do I add Windows Defender to the exclusion list.. what is the folder usually called? Also, the article suggests allowing Malwarebytes to the Windows Defender exlusion list (which is kind of the opposite I guess?) Do you recommend doing both? I can't seem to find the option in adding folders to Windows exclusion lists though. Many thanks!
  7. Hi Nasdaq, Thank you for your reply and help. I actually think maybe the Malwarebytes scan might have calmed things down, is that possible? (although it says it found no infections) Does the scan itself still perform some kind of cleaning as well? Many thanks again!
  8. Hi, Firstly, just to say thank you for all the help you have offered in these forums, I have always really appreciated it. Thankfully I havn't had to contact you guys for a while, but unfortunately I think my computer has recently become infected. These past few days my Chrome browser has been behaving very strangely, freezing and crashing, and I lose internet connection. My computer is generally behaving very slowly now, sluggish, and it has happened very recently. It started happening when I tried to save something from within Chrome but now it is happening all the time. I can barely keep my computer on for more than 30 mins now without it freezing up. Any help you can offer I would be very grateful for. Thanks again malwarebytes-log.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
